Hey does anyone really know what when down in the Nick Heidfeld matter? I mean even at the end of his season he still almost beat his team-mate and placed better than his replacement driver. I think something else went down behind the scenes, that got him banned of the team.

Next F1 movie should be about the inside events at Renault, remember just a few years what happen at Singapore with Fernando and Piquet Jr?

Renault didn't think he was leading the team as well as they would have liked; he was only two points ahead of Petrov at the time. So they dropped him.

At the same time, Renault was believed to be in financial trouble. Genii had borrowed money from a Russian banker, Vladimir Anotnov, to buy their 75% stake in the team from Renault. Dany Bahar and Lotus Cars were going to supply sponsor money, but the Malaysian government did not like the idea of taxpayer money being used to pay off a debt to a Lithuanian bank, and the payments to Renault were suspended. Renault needed money, or else they would risk defaulting on their loans, and Antonov could come back and start liquidating team assets to pay off the debt. So the team needed money, and fast. Heidfeld didn't have any sponsors, but Senna did. They're lucky they got him, because Antonov has just been arrested in London and charged with fraud and embezzelment - he was asset stripping, the practice of under-valuing businesses and giving them bad loans that they cannot pay, which leads to him liquidating their assets and selling them for more money than he had told them they were worth.

Thanks man I new it had to be something. He was doing alright in my book.

I think we all knew he was doing alright, fact that I'm also his fan. Renault didn't think he was good enough, but the thing is the car itself is not good enough after 3 or 4 races of the season. From then, Nick started to have the usual bad luck and the blow in Hungary marks the end of it. I think we all understand what Renault is facing and it started to get really tight with financial rumours floating around since the Monaco GP.

His hopes of staying in Formula 1 is pretty shallow, which in my opinion is better for him to go to Le Mans or secure a BMW DTM seat. Those 2 are probably the best bet for him at the moment.

Heidfeld should've spent more time on improving his driving and less on his hair. He made Petrov look better than average on more than one occasion.

You'd hope that Petrov could make himself look better look better on occasion, rather than relying on team-mates misfortune?

Nick is likely to be nothing more than an 'also-ran' in F1 from now on. I've been a fan of Nicks since he signed for BMW.Williams, and to be honest I'd rather he ducked out of F1 and concentrated on a different discipline than dragging along the bottom of F1 hoping to get a seat in one of the back 6 cars.
