I just have a Canon 300D with the stock lense. It is an ok camera.

Well, it's better than most... ;)

Anyway, I was expecting more noise from a 300D (I'm assuming you used a very high ISO). 👍
 
Man! I've got to make my way back to Chicago. I was there briefly last September as I was helping my brother drive from Maine to California. Now I have a digital camera that's worth a darn, the Pentax *ist DS, so I should go back and do something similar to what you've done.

PS) when it's time to play again GO 'HAWKS!
