i was wondering which one to get...
i already have a descent MR car, a fully modded esprit v8

i haent done the red emblem reces yet, so i could use that pennzoil nismo to do them

xj220 and zonda are just both really really really cool looking

People say that the Zonda turns like a dog and it can be tuned to turn!

The XJ220 costs alot and I have no views on this yet. I think I better buy one before my brother wastes my 330,000 cr

The XJ220 is quite lame. you might as well wait for the race car version which is miles better. Or get a bit more money and buy a lister storm. I used An R32 V-Spec II for all the red emblem races so there not that hard to do.

Sorry I meant Nissan Skyline R32 V-Spec II you cold use the R33 model (1995 and upwards) or the R34 (1999 I think and upwards) there all very good just tune em and there gggggggggrate

I won the Nismo R32 GTR R-Tune and used that for the red emblem races. Zonda Looks cool and sounds lovely, the XJ220 is massive and very overpriced. I would buy a normal Skyline then tune it so you win a race skyline in red emblem, then buy a Zonda:D

I've got the racing versions of both cars and I think they're both brilliant. Of course I've tuned them ;)

(Zonda Race Car 1010bhp, XJ220 Race Car 987BHP. Jaguar gets off the starting line quicker, but the Zonda is faster overall).

I would get the 50G skyline...do the pro level red emblem and win your self a calsonic nismo race car (the blue one)

Or just buy the Penzoil Nismo..that what i did ;)

I had no idea you could use the Nismo R32 GTR R-Tune in the Red Emblem race 'cause you can't use the 400R - damn!
Buy a Zonda? Nah, plenty of places to win them. :D

Oh, and TRUENO!!!! ;) :p hehehe...

Can somebody give me a setup for a silvia a spec. It would be great. It's got a stage two turbo. Runs around three hundred fifty sum odd horse.

Welcome to the forums, monstamak!! :burnout:

You can try using the search function to find some information about setting up the Silvia. Also try www.gtvault.com to get some information about setting up your car.

The 400R can be used in Red Emblem. I just waited until after I won a Pennzoil Skyline Race Car to do those series.... I hear much goodness about the XJ220, but I don't have one yet. The Zonda Race Car is great, but any other Zonda won't work for me

If you're looking for something besides an MR car, those aren't good choices..... You said you already have a modded MR car at your expense.... Just wondering what you were trying to ask....

race and road cars

That's a bit strange don't you think? You can throw a 6 speed in a freakin 60s cobra but you cant do it with XJ220... Btw do you know why XJ220 is called XJ220? The real car could get it up to 220 mph , can you get a stock one to such speed in the game?

Depends on the gearing. The Le Mans cars (and the other racers) have higher gearing. For instance. A :tvr: speed 12 is capable of 240mph, but the Le Mans version is geared so that it's top speed is only 185.

That was the projected speed when it was being designed, it tempted alot of people onto the waiting list - remember it was going to be the fastest car in the world in it's day and supposed to be a V12...

...then it was delivered - with a V6 turbo!!! Lots of disappointed people when it turned up - just too late.

Max speed in the end was 213mph. Still no slouch!! 😈

I would definately go with the Skyline, preferably a race version but you can mod the stock ones pretty well. The XJ220 is a nice car, just not a great car, and personally I'm not a fan of the Zonda at all.

I thought the XJ220 was taken too 217mph by Martin Brundle on the Nardo circuit.

Jag top speed was 217mph wasnt it?

V6 twin turbo is pretty impressive really to give a car that size a 220ish top speed and 60 in 3.2

Did anyone know the engine was originally from a MG Metro 6R4 Rally car!!!

If you live in the UK, try and goto Haynes Motor Museum in somerset, they have a superb XJ220 there. I was lucky enough to go there for my 6th form work exp and one of the jobs I had to do was to help move all the cars out of 1 hall for a conference. This meant i got a drive around (i didnt drive them) in a Viper RT-10, lotus Elise, Pontiac Firebird Transam, Ferrari 456GT, a DeLorean and of course the XJ220!!!!

It sounds like a bag of bolts but man does it go. I couldnt stop smiling for the rest of the week and it was probably teh best experience Ive had.

Sorry bout the rant, but i love telling ppl about it. As I said, if u get the chance, go to the museum. Its very very good.

It may be big but it's comparitively light, about 1400kg I think. Funny about the lump being from a Metro though, I'd heard it before but it's always good for a smile:)

Although you wouldn't find said engine in THIS Metro :D

Hey mr_p, we've gone a bit out of cync lately. We'll have to hook up for a chat.

Sorry, forgot about the Brundle run. But there was a bit of a problem between Jaguar and it's customers at the time over the engine and car spec changes. They were told they were getting one thing then Jaguar radically changed the specs once the deposits were paid. :(

I agree AT have you got msn messenger?
on topic
True, they did change the specs but I personally think for the better. Can you imagine how lardy the car would have been with 4WD and a V12?

Why would anyone want a 4WD V12 anyway...???? A nice 4WD V8 truck or sedan/wagon would be good enough. I think a V12 is for exotic cars and such, and most exotic cars are rear wheel drive. I said MOST! Either FR, MR, and the occasional RR. I have drove a fast FR and an even faster RR I think....... What setup does the 80's Porche have??

4WD with a V12? Well how about a Bugatti EB110 3.5 litres, 4 turbos, 60 valves, 600bhp and well over 200mph. I wouldn't say no!
eb110.jpg

Of course, also 4WD with a V12 is the Lamborghini LM002, not quite as inviting though:)
