Nissan 300ZX

Does anyone here have any experiance of the Nissan 300ZX or even better ahve one?
My ol' mans looking into getting one. I've read a bit about them and it seems it's recommended that the best one to go for is between 1990-94, the manual twin turbo.
Any bits of advice or anything would be handy?
 
They were very average.

The 1990-1994 Eagle Talon TSI (195hp; AWD; $3-$5k) was ten times cooler, right, PunkRock?

Yeah, slight problem there.
Although I have seen Eagle Talons (car show) and to be quite honest they don't look particularly great. Althought it could all be under the bonnet and mechanics of the thing which makes it great. :rolleyes:
Plus also my dad's looking mainly at the 300ZX because it's a targa top.

My dad got a 300ZX today, for just £4000!!!!!
OMG!!!
That's very cheap for a supercar that has around 300bhp.
Only slight problem with it is the mileage of 108,000 miles. But still for £4000 not bad. He might pcik it up tommorow.
 
Good, glad he got the 300zx instead of the Eagle Talon TSI AWD Piece of DSM monkey crap.....But that's MHO
 
Yeah, I had a look at an Eagle Talon, and to be honest really didn't do anything for me. (DSM??? - I'm retarded enough not to know what it is)

Only probs apart form the mileage is that it has some rust above the wirscreen, but they said they could replace that pannel, with a new one for £30 as it's only a small pannel, and it's a common problem.
Bargain if you ask me. Good job we have a double garrage, as now she can now sit next to the AC Cobra (replica).
Got it from a place called Japvillage.com . As the name suggests they specialise in imports. They were working on several RX7's, Supras, several Skylines (the best was a modid 550bhp GTR T25) some MR2's, an Accord, a WRX Sti (22B I think) and a Evolution 3 and an Ultima. Also the bloke who owns it had his car there as well, which is a 900bhp RX7. He's taken the engine out and replaced it with some amasing 2 stroke enigine. I mean for christ sake he runs it on Castrol R :odd: :eek: . Also he runs the Canon Ball run as well, across Europe.
 
DSM = Diamond Star Motors. Refers to the Mitsubishi/Eagle/Dodge cars that were almost exactly the same...i believe. Could be wrong tho.

i dont think a 300ZX comes under the class of supercar:odd:

but anyway hope you and your dad enjoy it:)
 
I really wish I was a few inches shorter. Being 6'4" sucks when it comes to cars, because I don't think I'd even fit in a 300zx. I fit perfect in the 350z and from what I've read, the 300zx has less head room. I'd probably have to try one on for size. :)

Anyway, congrats on the car. It's one of my favorites. 👍

im 6'3 and i have no trouble fiting in a Z31, havent tried a Z32 though
 
the engine/mechanical part of the talon/laser/eclipse, were mitsubishi, the design of the car was chrysler and mitsu.
 
I am 6' 1" and I sit very high in my dad's Z32. 6'4" will be interesting. I think you'd have to drive around with the t-tops off. :)

Anyway, the Z32 is a pretty cool car. My dad's has a Stillen intake, cat-back, and ecu and it pulls like mad. I could just imagine what it'd do with bigger turbos. It isn't very fun in the rain though...

Mitsubishi/Eagle/Plymouth......
Plymouth had the LAser in the 1st Gen DSM model, which was by far the best overall DSM to date..The 91 Plymouth Laser...same HP as the rest but weighted less..oh yeah...

I know all the sub-owned car companies and what not..but ya know.

The drivetrain was changed by Chryster, as was the transmissions at a certain point.......That is why they experienced so many problems.....I mean if it were up to mitsu, they would have kept the GVR4's D/T for all 4 of the cars....Woulda held up alot better.

you should try being 6' 6". when i was test driving my first car with my dad who's 6'6" not me, it was an old prelude but he had to open the sunroof and then stick his head out so he could see.
