Run by Nissan Motorsport in Australia to our local Group C rules. Set the pole position for the 1984 1000 in 2m13.84 with a one lap special 'grenade' engine.

The Bluebird 910 become part of Australian motor sport history on September 29, 1984, when George Fury put his Nissan Bluebird Turbo (an imported version with a Nissan Z engine turbo motor and fabricated IRS) on pole position for the 1984 James Hardie 1000 touring car race with a time of 2:13.850. This remains the fastest time by a closed sedan on the old 6.172 km Mount Panorama Circuit before the introduction of the Caltex Chase in 1987 increased the lap distance to 6.213 km.

Yeah it's me again lol. You've done your homework on this haven't you? The pic is taken at Sandown Raceway just after Dandenong Road corner & judging by the little rear spoiler, I'd say its 1982 when the Bluebird was still a class competitor. They ran numbers 55 & 56 for the first 2 years before changing to 15 & 16 for '83/'84.

I watched this only an hour ago. It's a great piece put together for the 30th anniversary & I actually saw this car in 3D recently at a filming of Shannon's Legends of Motorsport in Melbourne.
