How on earth is someone supposed to get their hands on one of these. I ve grinded the UCD for hours upon hours for the past few days, never shows up for me.
There's 64 cars from 1998 in the game, and 24 cars on level 12, so I suggest getting a level 12 ticket, back up the game and keep grinding the ticket until you get the car...
There are 64 cars on a 1998 birthday ticket. so it would take you days or maybe even weeks of grinding to get an r390
You'd be way better off with a level 12 ticket.
How do you dupe it? You need a USB flash drive. back up your save file onto it, launch GT5. Open the ticket, if its not the r390, delete your save file, and back it up from the flash drive, and repeat until you get it.
It would be MUCH easier if someone would just give you a level 12 ticket, i would, but I dont have one.

There's no need of a USB flash drive, you can just setup a 2nd account on the PS3 (no need for a PSN ID, just a new user on the PS3), and then follow all the steps you mentioned.
If using a USB flash drive, there's no need to delete the save file before restoring the save, but if it's using 2 users on the same PS3, then it's needed to delete before restoring.

Doh grinded out the lvl 12 ticket on an alt account only to find out that when I try to send it, I get the message that I ve gifted today already, ofc I have I sent a car over to start the grind with something, meh that sucks
Anyway if anyone has a lvl 12 ticket I can send one back tomorrow.
