Once again making the rounds at the Nürburgring race track in Germany is this super-powered, special-bodied Infiniti G35 Coupe. But insiders tell that this isn’t an Infiniti G35 at all. It is really a test vehicle for Nissan’s upcoming super sportscar, the Nissan Skyline GT-R.

Power for the Skyline is rumored to be a 450 hp, twin-turbocharged V-6 engine, which will put power to the ground with all-wheel-drive. Naturally handling is a top priority, and it is reported that Nissan has contracted with Lotus to help fine-tune track performance.

The car in the photos is obviously made up from Infiniti G35 coupe sheetmetal, substantially modified to fit the huge tires, and with a big front airdam. This is a test mule, though, as indicated by the poor fit of the rear bumper to the taillights. The final design will be much more like the Nissan GT-R Proto concept car that has recently been show at auto shows.

saved the best shot for last...they are huge eh? notice how the rear bumper and the body dont fit well??/ thats one of the easiest ways to tel thats its not a G35

I hate how it looks, when compared to the R34. Also, the GT-R Concept from the 2006 Tokyo Auto show, doesn't look anything like that.

I doubt that the body will stay like that for production, too ugly. That rear bumper is horrible.

I never liked the look of the R34, 100 air damps and front intakes is a little too much. All this one needs is a new grill and its just right in front. The rear needs a louder rear spoiler and a less boxed rear bumper. It should have 275/30/20(GTR concept size) tires front to back since the G35 sport package has 19's why not up it one more inch and beef up the brakes. It just looks like its going to weight in at 3800lbs

This is a pure drivetrain test mule, this does not represent visually the final GTR at all. So talking about "The rear needs a louder rear spoiler and a less boxed rear bumper" is a bit pointless as the GTR wont be a G35 clone.

There is already a Stickied thread for this car alone

Wow, how long did it take for somone to actually point out that this is not how the GT-R will look. It's a test mule, like that Testarossa Ferrari mutalated to test the Enzo's mechanicals. Ther GT-R is it's own car now, it's not part of any other model range.

I didnt know that they used a testarossa for the enzo's testing, if ya have a link i would really like to see what it looked like!

As for the skyline I hope it looks like the original 2002 tokyo motorshow concept (as seen in GTC), that one was the best looking I thought....

Actually that modded G35 looks quite cool in its own way... apart from the back bumper....

I have read once somewhere that the R32 GTR's test mule was an S13 silvia, I would love to see some pictures of that car.
