The Pennzoil NISMO Skyline GT-R burst onto the JGTC scene in 1998, grabbing attention by winning the first round of the season at Suzuka. History would see round 2 of JGTC in that year cancelled, however when round 3 (Sendai) rolled around, the Pennzoil GT-R was ready. Number 23 took the win, and went on to claim the championship for the year. The car was powered by a highly tuned version of the original RB26DETT engine found in the road going version, which had been borrowed from their Le Mans program and bumped to 2,708cc with great success. One of the most recognizable Japanese touring cars ever, the distinctly American livery looked incredible on the quintessentially Japanese lines of the GT-R and made the Pennzoil GT-R R33 absolutely unforgettable. We have the R34 Pennzoil GT-R, so why not the R33 Pennzoil GT-R?

Thought about suggesting this one a while back but went for the Le Mans version instead. Would definitely love to see more old JGTC-spec machines on GT.

We have from GT5 the R33 Touring Car (Was DLC)/ in GT6 its available to buy (Cr), looks closely the same.

I'm pretty sure that was closely based on the Pennzoil R33, but it'd be nice to have the proper livery. Same goes for the R32 GT-R and the 1994 Calsonic GT-R

It's actually closer to the 1995/1996 R33 GT-R that ran at Le Mans and in Japan. It was in 1997 that the more open technical regulations came into effect and spawned all of the crazy near-silhouette racers of the late 90's/early 2000's era of All-Japan GT.
