Don't you think that one of the problems with Porsche to be in the game if there's any is the conflict that had with Nissan because of the Nurburgring Nordshleife record they said that they were using racing tyres and it wasn't like that.

It would be a problem that GT5's car symbol is the GT-R?

Both records are nil now because the new Corvette ZR1 beat all of them, then the Dodge Viper SRT10 ACR obliterated the ZR1's time. Those two American cars annihilated the Nissan and Porsche.👍

And the British Radical SR8 bet them all in 2005

Ah but the welsh rarebit VS 8 beat the Radical hands down in 1998

Ok guys... whip out the lap time lists!! :D

The problem with the lap times is that they are timed and submitted by the manufacturers themselves. If I said that I ran the mile today in 8 minutes, would you believe me?

And since when was the GT-R appointed as Gran Turismo's symbol? Granted, PD obviously has a Nissan fetish, but I don't think the GT-R is their symbol.

It clearly is their symbol....
but i dont think the Nurburgring lap time has anything to do with it being in the game...

Yes, that would make an average of 7.5 mph/12km hour. Which is quite feasible, even for a non-professional. But I get your point. ;)

This IS a controversial topic because in stock form one car is likely going to be faster than the other in the GAME. Of course the documented times from each manufacturer clearly show that the GT-R is quicker than the turbo around the Ring by some 13 seconds IIRC. Porsche's claims that their ring testing has shown that the GT-R is actually slower than the Turbo around the Ring, implying that Nissan cheated to achieve 7:29. So yea you can see where this is going...

I don't think this has anything to do with Japanese Manufacturer vs. German Manufacturer bias, this has been going on long before the GT-R blitzed the 'ring it's just a matter of the manufacturers themselves on what games they put their cars in, its all about who will pay them the most for licensing and who will get them the most favorable exposure.
