So if I remember correctly, I believe it's been said that if you receive a car for winning a tournament, like you receive a level 21 gift car, and if you don't like the car that you can turn off the game before it saves and try for a different car.

So I got done winning the B Spec FGT series and I received a level 21 car. Now you can't view what car it is while it's still in the 18 wheeler (at least I don't know of a way to view it while it's still in there). So I clicked on the ticket, waited for the car to appear for me to see what it was and realized it was a car I already have.

So I pushed the PS button > Quit Game > Yes without selecting the "Yes" or "No" option as to whether or not I wanted to use that car.

Then I came back in to see if I could try again for a different car, yet level 21 car ticket was gone. I went to my garage and there it was. At the top of the list. Albeit it didn't have a picture of the vehicle. But it was there cause once I clicked on it in my garage it appeared.


So did I do something wrong?
 
You have to back up your save first, As soon as you use open the ticket the game saves
 
Yep. Buy a flash drive dude.
 
You forgot to backup the game with a thumbdrive. Back it up before you use the ticket, if its not the car you want quit and go back to your save and load it. I have messed up my 1967 ticket due to not backing up the file.

No worries, you can get a level 21 ticket from the trade forum I'm sure.

i apologise in advance, but this reminds me of the Texas (story or joke) about shooting first and asking questions later :)
 
Yep, sadly I had this same horror last week with 2 gifted level 24 tickets. Luckily some kind members were able to help me get them back, but I always remember to back up my save first now.

What you want to do is:

-receive ticket
-save
-quit game
-backup save to usb flash
-start game
-try to get car you want, if not restart
-go restore save over existing one
-start game again
-try until you get car you want
-profit!!

This is, in a nutshell how you do it.
