I just noticed that after the 1.10 patch, my A-Spec driver race without his HANS device. I've tried changing to other helmet/suit combination, but I still can't see the HANS device. Haven't try on my B-Spec bob though. Does anyone here face this glitch?

That's not the slightest bit funny. I'm not a NASCAR fan at all, but I'm still not going to laugh at a driver getting killed. I've always been critical of that nonsense in any circumstance on any message board.
I think I normally ask the person making such tasteless jokes if they might happen to have a close relative that has passed away, like a parent, sibling, or grandparent so that we could joke about their death. That wouldn't be terribly amusing, would it?
It's one of the most important developments in driver safety from the past few decades. There's a lot of deceased race drivers that could have been saved by it. It is intended to save the driver from specific injuries, namely a basilar skull fracture.
As was pointed out, any race driver should care a great deal. If one wants to brush it off as meaningless in GT5, the same can be said of fire suits, gloves, and crash helmets, but people expect those things. The HANS device is roughly as important as the helmet or any number of other safety devices.
