No image, then corrupted car

I was in the Dealership to purchase the Rocket car. When I selected the car and got into the area where I would expect to do the purchase there was no image displayed and it locked my system. The only way I could get out was to Quit. After getting the abnormal exit message and subsequent rebuild of files, I go into the Dealership for the Rocket and see an image that looks like a box of black metal shavings with the nose of the car sticking out the front and the cursor and scrolling text moves very slowly . Everything else seems to be ok in the game. Any thoughts?
