Due to the balance of performance restrictions being so against the 911 GT3 R Olaf Manthey has decided not to compete in the VLN and Nurburgring 24 hour race next year. However they will continue to support customer teams and are looking to compete at an International level.

It's a real shame to see such a legendary team have to pull out due to crippling restrictions, there's been some fantastic races (and victories) over the years. Their iconic green and yellow paint scheme will be missed. Hopefully they can come up with something to enable them to return in the future.

Anothe lost competition... I really thought that they could produce some fantastic racing in next year's 24 Hours of Nurburgring. Looks like we're only seeing BMW, Audi and Ferrari battle it out at the front unless another Porsche which is capable of what the Manthey has been doing to challenge the front runners.

Audi are pretty much guarenteed any GT3 win now but Mercedes can do ok, hopefully a McLaren does the N24 next year because it looks like an half decent car.

Manthey to WEC no doubt. And on buying a new Porsche GTE? They ran 7 GT3 911's this year, pretty sure they can afford one or two GTE cars (GT3 and GTE cars are similar in cost), not to mention the 991 GT racer isn't due out until 2014.

From a couple of endurance races this year, the car has a potential, pace but not the reliability. That's been haunting them since their first race. So hopefully they'd get the car for the real test, Nurburgring 24 Hours :D

LOOKS HALF DECE T? Looks amazing! But just like in Spa 24 earlier this year, reliability problems, and performance problems
