No matter how hard I try, I can't get a fair race going

I always seem to be either 10 seconds behind, 10 in front, or multiple laps in front. I did the Trial Mountain enduro with a stock RX7 Type RZ with racing medium tires. Even though my car was similar to my opponents' cars, I lapped them twice over 73 laps. I had to pit slightly more often then them too. Racing the same car with Soft or Normal tires, and I drop 10-20 seconds behind. What's going on here? I haven't had too many memorable races so far playing GT3.

couldn't agree more, never once in teh 306 races i have done that it has come down to even the last 100 yrds

I have. I have problems with the final blind turn in Laguna Seca. Today, I used my Lancer to finally beat the evolution meeting in beginner(I found out that ign was wrong, its not get all golds in a league to get a special car, its win all cups, for example I didn't get gold on 5 of the races in beginner yet but still won the lancer right after i won the lancer from the evolution meeting) and as I was about to accelerate into first place 2nd place pushed me ahead so i did it pretty easy.

I had a hard time with this too. What I do is enter a race, see what what my competition is, and buy one of the same cars they have. I buy good tires, brakes, suspension, and I lighten it. THis may seem like overkill, but the computer drives a LOT more consistantly than I do, and the races usually come out fairly.

Read this:

What You're Up Against:
A field made up entirely of Toyota Vitz RS 1.5's. The Euro Edition won't get you anywhere in this race, so get a RS 1.5 and go at it. Since these cars are all at the same level of power, you can expect a tough race here. In fact, this might be one of the most challenging of all the racing championships in GT3

I did this race and whatis says is true. Very close except on the Test Track. See what you think. :)
