Has anyone else heard this terrible rumor? I sure hope this is not true. So far COD3, Rainbow Six Vegas, and GOW have went this route. Luckily Heather and I can still get into a room together in GOW so we have been enjoying it. I got rid of her copy of COD3 as soon as I found out we couldn't get into ranked rooms together. When you play in ranked rooms at least people have something to look forard too and they will work together. Games are definetly a lot better than when you play unranked rooms. People have nothing to loose so they dont care what happens.
I just hope this is not true.

Hmm well that really would kind of suck... I mean on the other hand I understand it because cheating becomes very easy with a couple of friends... well I just hope that this also means more people in non ranked games... I actually do not care so much about my ranking as long as I can have fun with my friends...

It would suck bad. Ranked matches actually even things out. If someone is cheating or if they are really good then they go way up in rank. Say rank 50 for example.Where heather and I stay around rank 17-20 and almost always have enjoyable games. Unranked rooms are terribly uneven.

I'm in agreement with Max here, as it does make sense on some levels. Overall, I'm sure it won't be a problem with games like Halo 3, etc, but it will be something that we will have to live with.

...And even then, are you and your friends really going to have more fun dinking around in an unranked game, or actually getting down to business in a ranked one? I know at least with my friends that I usually play XBL with, we would prefer the unranked matches.

Yeah you can do a lot more sh** in unranked games ;) Which also might end up in chaos, so it's also a negative factor aswell... but for example I really liked conquering the aircraft carrier in Battlefield 2 (PC) with 2 friends ( 1 Medic and 1 Support), myself being Special-Ops... now our enemies are blind and dying like flies on the top of the carrier :D
From a ranking perspective it was useless, since you need several tries and a long time in order to get there... and of course after a short time you get killed, no matter nhow good you are....

In ranked games you are matched with people of your playing quality. So there is at elast some balance. Say 20 is your average. At least in ranked games you are with 20's. If you go unranked you could be playing with people that are 50's. Plus most people have nothing to loose in unranked so they dont play serious or as a team. Everyone knows that ranked is where you go to have real game play and unranked is where you go to learn the map and screw around.
