No 'Official Best Times' thread??

Should I make an Official Best Times Thread (keep reading)?

I've done a couple searches, figuring there would be an best times thread, just for a little comparing, I found there was none. Merely individual threads like, "What is your best time on Trial Mountain 1" or whatever.

If you guys would like to see an Official Best Times Thread, I have a ton of time on my hands with no school or work and I wouldn't mind seeing how well people actually do.

Simply vote Yes if you would like to see an official database of best lap record times that have been submitted to me in unedited video form and have my approval, as I would enjoy doing something for this racing community.

What he said. I love www.gt3times.com, its a great site fully dedicated to every time you could think about setting on Gran Turismo, it as well ranks you out of all the members on how well you do, so you can see how well you are compared to the rest of the GT community. If you want my oppinion, Im going to have to vote no, dont get me wrong, I think you have a great idea, but I just personally think if we start putting up more than one or two places to post times, things will start to get confusing, as to where to post the time or do it at ALL the places, or If I have the fastest time with so and so car at so and so track, and I post it at gt3times.com, but not here, than it wont be an official list. Kinda get my drift, I know I didnt do a very good job of explaining it.
 
We've got the writeups board, the most active drifters forum around, and a bunch of other qualities unique to GTP. No reason to copy what's been done already, and better, elsewhere.
 
Looked into those sites.
They are just scripts where anyone can post whatever time they want and obviously, the best time will come from a 1000hp car so nobody uses anything less.

I was thinking of doing this for the exclusive use of GTP users with a maximum of 650hp or so (for realism's sake) and actual have video proof of a record time which I would show to anyone inquiring about the time.

BUT, if you guys really feel you would not like to see something like this, then so be it.
 
thanks for the www.gt3times.com web site but i dont think theyve done it withiut cheating my best with a cheated f1 lol was 51 second flat so 52 second with a toyota gt1 1300 and a litle more hp its impossible to do a 52 flat lol :odd: so i think that your idea is great but asksome picture of the hp and the time for a proof

At what particular track where you talking about? If it was Midfield as I think it is I have run a sub 50 second lap in an F1 without cheating, i.e 2 wheels on the track at all times and it wasnt a hybrid

The mods at gt3 times are very active against cheaters and won't hesitate to take down suspicious times. And most of the top racers there post some replays of their hot laps, so I'd say most, if not all of the times on that site are real times.

Don't tell us, Make some noise at those sites. If you wish to complain that you think they're cheating, I'd be more than happy to recommend you take issue on their forums.

Street fighter Take a momnet and peruse Mr.P's time trial thread in the Spot races and Lap times forum. I'm sure you'll see some times you never thought were possible. As a further note, if you wish to see who is the fastest, post up a time in there to see who takes the challenge.

Indeed - flag a time to bobkart (by posting it in the "Delete Fake Times" thread - and he'll investigate - with the help of others like me, Max, Link, Mr P and so on (and on and on and on).

As for no-one using anything less than a 1000hp car, just look at my times. And I'm only one member...
