Somewhat of a silly question, but since Spec 2.0 I have fervently been doing endurance races. I just finished the Suzuka race in over 6 hours but then I was all excited to save the replay and the option to do so was not available.

Why? Is it because I have saved mid-race 4 times and hence it cannot remember the replay file? Or was there never an option to save replays to begin with?

Can anyone shed some light on this?

By the way, what is also somewhat weird is that if you begin a race that you have saved, your car is completely new; no scratches or bumps.

I haven't done any enduro yet since the update but have you check to see if you have enough HDD space to save large files. Also isn't scratches and bumps (and mechanical damages) are fixed upon pitting. I'm assuming when you save races, you have to do it while you're in the pit. No?

That makes sense, but do you even have mechanical damage in endurance races? I thought that one only had to deal with cosmetic damage?

Other than that, I believe I have over 170 GB left, so space should not be an issue...

Can anyone confirm this?

I can remember in the earlier GT games you were able to save the endurance replays, but with a catch. You could only save the first 20 laps or so, due to memory space. I would expect that the same applies to GT5, though I could be wrong.

i don't see why it would be a memory issue, the replays aren't saved as bulky video data, it's text data that is then recreated within the game's engine

There has always been a facility to both watch and save endurance replays in GT5. If you can't then it may be a multi save bug or something else introduced in Spec 2.0.

I was disappointed because I wanted to look at the datalogger after my 4 hour tskuba endurance race yesterday and that option wasn't available either.

I had a pretty epic race, with the continual driving through pit glitches and the forgetting to change my oil (oil light on after lap 50) and coming back after being down 2 laps because my tires were bald and spinning out everywhere because I couldn't get them changed. It was challenging enough in a mostly untuned Miata picked randomly from the endless list in my garage.

I can confirm before Spec 2.0 the endurance replays saved are over a hundred Mb in size for the 24h Le Mans race. However it cannot be exported to XMB, GT5 will issue a warning about file size.

Have not tried a save yet for post 2.0 patch.

A someone else already stated, I think it has to do with the fact that we are able to save mid-race now...oh well...

Just simulated an Endurance suspend save. If we suspend and resume WITHOUT exiting the game (or turn off PS3), the Race Replay data is intact and can be saved. Not much of a point for using the suspend function this way.

Seems like the race Replay data (probably save to a cache file) will be wiped after every game restart.

It is likely we can still get our replay files by NOT using the suspend function at all, run the race continously till the end.

Either choose to SUSPEND RACE or save REPLAY DATA. Pick one. :)

I think you're right. I noticed that my best lap before a suspend was lap 125, then after the suspend it was lap 199 with the same time on it. Every time I continue from a suspend the only lap times shown are the prior one and the best lap is reset to the current lap number - 1.

If you suspended/save your race and your game/ps3 freezes you will be able to return to the save point. The save file isn't deleted till you save again or finish the race.
