No Vehicle Biography in GT4?

One of the niceties in GT3 was that every car in the game had a fairly detailed biography that detailed the car's history, origins, and specifications.

Is this gone in GT4, or can I access it somewhere?

I will be really disheartened if this has been left out and I am simply not seeing it-- while GT4 was being made, Kazunori said his goal was for the game to be the ultimate simulation, AND vehicle database/historybook.

Without the car bios, how will people know the significance of some of the great and/or obscure cars in history?

Okay, but what about the narrator thingy on some kind of a free run mode, that talks about your car while you're driving in the track? I read about it before, somewhere on a Japanese GT4 thread here in GTP. Is it implemented in the US version as well?
