When you take a car which comes stock with a wing on it, and try to put an aftermarket one, the area was clearly modeled without a wing, allowing for A, B and C wings to be fitted. How about a forth option (D) where there is no Wing: meaning we can remove the stock wing from the car.

Who likes this idea and wishes PD implemented it?👍

I do. Put it in the Feedback section and I'll vote for it.

That would only work on premium though. Standards are modeled in one sheet.

Take any standard street car and take it to GT Auto.
You have 3 aftermarket wings you can put on the car. Option D would simply not have any wing on it. And if there is some kind of problem, they could just make and invisible wing.

Yes please! :D

How hard can it be? I mean, it shouldn't be that time consuming since it's already modelled in the game.

How are you going to cover up the holes from the mounting brackets? :]

Oh yes indeed. Great idea! Shouldn't be too difficult to pull off, hell maybe they'll throw it in the next update. Be nice to have a spoiler-less Civic '08 or Impreza.

Careful what you wish for. They'll change the model, but they won't change the characteristics of the car. So you'll take a stock wing off, but still get the downforce as though it is there.

Since PD isn't going to take the time to adjust the cars behavior without the stock wing, best to just leave this one alone.

They could simply emplace a universal PP reduction by a specific amount or percentage. Since after you install a wing the car starts out at a minimum downforce of 5, up to a max of 20.

And if this for some reason was not easily doable, they could just make the 'invisible' wing have the minimum of 5 downforce, but just not display it in the settings sheet.
Or simply not change anything in regards to downforce, keeping the specs identical to the car with the stock wing.

This is a very good thought, but also brings up another topic related to this thread.

Why do stock wings (like on the viper ACR) not generate any downforce according to PD? There is no aerodynamic adjustment even though there is a huge wing on the back of it.

Needs work PD.

To my knowledge, the ACR's wing does not allow for adjustment; as such the characteristics it provides to the car have already been calculated into the car settings, but are simply not visible to the player.

Exactly. Just because the wing isn't adjustable doesn't mean that it doesn't produce any downforce.

The ACR's spoiler and front splitter were both adjustable. PD just didn't bother modeling either.

I wish:

-they'd make wings that fits with the car's look.
-If we could at least paint the ugly wings we are stuck with.
-If we could just use the stock wing with the same PP benefit.

The drag tuners need to get a look at this thread! It's by far the most up their alley!

I've been thinking for awhile about being able to paint the wings. 👍

I also like how on the Z06 vette you can get the rear deck spoiler. They should have more of those kinds other cars.

For aesthetics reasons I have always wanted to remove rear wings but still maintain down force. Nothing worse than fixing up a luxury sedan then making it look like your hauling a picnic table around your favorite track.

I agree, the Nismo Fairlady Z spoiler is better than all the ones in the GT Auto. Can we put them on our cars? No. :(

Let's keep this thread alive by posting which cars we'd remove the wing from first 👍
I'd probably have to go with my Mitsubishi Evo, in order to get the appearance of the STM's 2005 EVO VIII GSR "Ricer"

Lamborghini Countach
Should increase the speed by a good 10 mph.

Edit: Nevermind, it seems like it comes that way anyways.
