When hosting a race online, you get various options such as tracks, starting time, time speed, BHP restrictions etc etc.

The most common thing hosts will type on their own events is "NO X1 Cars" or something along those lines.

One issue is no matter how much of bad driver you are the chances of you loosing with one of those Redbull cars is pretty slim so the race is practically unfair.

The main issue is that the car attracts a lot of noobs and immature drivers that either crash into you on accident or on purpose or decide to push you down the runway... when i'm going 200mph in a Nissan TwinTurbo on a straight.. guess what i'm happy with that!!

Yes we do have a BHP option but wouldn't a no X1 option be so much easier.. and seeing as its a GT car that's basically a fighter jet on wheels, its not a lot to ask?

Set a specific car type could help.

No
There is no X1 any more So PD would not add that function becasue they would get flack for adding wrong details.

The X series from Red bull has More than 1 car as well there are 4 now
3*X2010 and 1 X2011
Also when you block only 1 car another car would only replace it.
Block X series and the FGTs show up.
Block FGT and Lemans show up.
Block le mans and group 1 cars show up.
Block Group 1 cars and Japan GT cars show up
Block Japan GT and and EU TCs show up.

Just set the restrictions like every one else.

A "no X1" option is nothing but lazyness and a waste of an update. If PD is going to add something, it should be thought out and worthwhile. What is needed is the ability to allow/restrict any car, and not the extremely specific and thus limited rules we were given.

I do see where you're coming from but i felt it would be such a small simple patch it would be barely an issue.. this isn't something i would want for every fast vehicle in the game just the X1 style cars as they are in a complete unrealistic league of their own.

Like i said earlier in the thread.. its basically not a car. It's basically a batmobile lol.

As for slim chances for loosing having a faster car than the opponent the word "SLIM" isn't strictly true as i've driven against friends who are more used to Forza and NFS and i beat them in a TwinTurbo Nissan (tuned obviously) and they were in a (tuned) Zonda R.

The X1 cars on the other hand... my mum could beat me using the X1.

'Gejabo' mentioned a type restriction.. maybe any type of X1 car being restricted with the one option could be the answer.

I do see why you've said. i just wanted to know other peoples opinion as its the only car that i've come across, that actually annoys a lot players and has become an issue quite regular when playing online.

I'm not making an attack, I'm just pointing out the problem with this idea. A no X1 option is blatantly pointless because it solves a trivial problem (really a non problem) when marginally more effort would provide a new feature that is useful for all players.

The X1 is not and never should have been a problem online. It is extremely easy to exclude from an online room just by using restrictions (and an online room without restrictions that is meant for racing is pretty much worthless and should be avoided). If a host sets up his/her lobby, how can there be problems involving the X1? If you intend to race street cars, why is the PP set to allow a 1000 PP hyper race car? The same applies to race cars, prototypes, F1, and everything else in the game.

The only unlimited rooms should be free run and X1 races, at least that's what I think.

Also, the X1 isn't unrealistic, and whatever inaccuracy there is is likely just as present in the X1 as with all the other cars as GT5 does not have perfect physics. It's as much a car as the 2J, F10, and 908. You can think of it as just those three put together.

On the issue of the X1 being skill-proof, zero experience drivers shouldn't be a concern no matter what they're driving most of the time (obvious exceptions exist like Route X where the go button is all you need to win in a faster car). When you have a field of at least semi decent drivers, a faster car is going to win 99% of the time. It's also more likely that online drivers have some idea of what they're doing rather than being totally clueless. If they are the latter, the best they would do in a X1 is probably turn into a wall and that could be particularly devastating with damage on.

If you add 200kg ballast and set powerlimiter to 50%, how many pp will the X1 still have?

Set the pp limit slightly lower - problem solved.

I just set my X2011 to 843 PP so my guess is the lowest somebody could realistically get an X1 of any description is about 820.

Also, has nobody here considered that this problem runs both ways? I hate it when people try driving non X1's in my public lobby when the title says X1 only. I completely agree with Exorcet, that's a great idea which isn't that difficult to do.

Just set a restriction on the vehicle Weight , I seem to find helps me ;)

The needs to be a better way to limit car selections in a lobby. For one, I'd like to have a street cars only option so racecars, RM'd cars, TC cars, and the like can't be chosen.

Well, I just figured out the best way to keep the X2010/11 cars out of my lobbies. Since I host mostly 600PP+ races there really never a reason for any FF cars to be entered so I just deselect FF from the allowed drivetrains. By doing this, FF cars and cars without a drivetrain listed no longer appear in your online garage. Since the red bull cars do not list a drivetrain type the are filtered out of the garage and cannot be used.

Set weight to 760 KG. Depending on the pp youre racing at, no one will choose a car lighter than that.

Why not set PP to 600?

Not that your idea is bad, it's actually a good find, but PP already solves the problem completely unless maybe you race FGT or LMP. However, there is a LMP only option, and with FGT, isn't the X1 lighter (I don't remember)?

Because he said 600 and up, not 600 and down.

It's simple enough to adjust accordingly. In fact, if he doesn't set PP and just leaves the room unrestricted then I don't see how he's going to avoid 800 PP cars racing in a 715 PP room.

I know how to setup and host a lobby but much of the time I'm hosting high powered street cars at Daytona with the HP limited to 1035hp. Even with the HP limited some people think if they can just turn down the HP or add weight to the Redbull and race it. By deselecting FF they can not even choose the Redbull cars.

I have been dreaming with that since the game was released , they added new options like GT500, LMPs, Ferrari road cars it would not be that hard to include such a simple option.

Frankly, almost every lobby i've been in has had 1 or 2 people driving X-cars. What we do is; "Change your car (randomer) or kick", if he changes he stays, if not he gets kicked.

And besides, 99% of the time it's people in Rams that are annoying little :censored:s
