With the final year of the 2010s under way, all cars launched and the first Grand Prix completed, it's time to finally sort out this decade. If you are new to the forum or otherwise unfamiliar with what this is, check out the master thread from when we originally ran this contest 3 years ago.

Rules

Nominate four cars with a photo to match each.
Don't clog up the page with lots and lots of videos; links to videos are fine.
You can change your post and your nominations right up until the closing date.

Provide any supplementary information you wish, but don't give us an 8 page essay.

The top four cars with the most nominations will go through for polling next week.

Eligibility

Cars which competed in World Championship events during the 2010-2019 Formula One seasons.

If you have any quibbles about your nomination, tag me in your post and I'll get back to you.

Reasoning

If possible, please give some justification or reasoning for your nominations.
You can choose based on livery, body shape or a combination of the two. It's up to you.

---

Nominations close in the evening of FRIDAY 19th April.

Bit of a theme in my selections (not really intentional!) I was going to add the 2018 Ferrari but decided I'd go back a bit and represent some other cars. Anyway in no particular order;

2018 Sauber F1

The whole's car package is really nice and I really like the livery with the dark red over the airbox/engine cover. The sidepod air intake configuration and bargeboards are really nice and look great in white. The car was just a really good package and surprisingly competitive. I have to mention that this was one of the few cars where the Halo actually looked like a part of the aero package rather than just an ugly bit of role-cage slapped on the top of the car.

2017 Mercedes F1

In my opinion the best looking F1 car since the 'glory' days of the late 00's before the '09 aero changes. This whole car, all 15m of it looks like a weapon. It's aggressive, pointed and just rude. The car's silver, black and teal livery gave the car this cold colour scheme, which worked perfectly to highlight the red numbers and warm yellow and red helmet colours of Lewis' car specifically. While I'm all for the Halo and it's added safety, I lament the loss of such beautiful lines and the clearly visible helmet and steering inputs.

2011 McLaren F1

This car has to have the best curves F1's seen since the 50's. This head-on shot really shows you just how extreme the sidepods where. At launch and on the track this looked like nothing else and was just so cool. It might not have worked and they might have scrapped it for the following season. But for 2011 McLaren had the coolest unintentional throwback car ever paired with the iconic Vodafone Mercedes livery.

2017 Sauber F1

Another Sauber and another bit of a throw back. This was I think the first of the 2017 cars launched and it was jaw dropping. The livery works so well with the flowing lines. It was a clean and handsome car with some really good detailing. It's a shame it was a bit of a dog to drive but it looked good doing it.

2016 Manor MRT05

A clean design and colourful livery with a Manor logo visible in the right light on the engine cover makes this a far more notable entry than the previous Marussia MR03. A shame we didn't get to see much of this back-marker.

2010 Virgin VR-01

Best of the brief pre-step nose/dong era of the '10s. The tribal livery and flared nose gave it a sense of occasion that the other two newcomers of 2010 lacked. So what if the slowest team on the grid beat you in the constructors table? If you're going to be miles off the pace or fail to even start then you might as well look good.

2019 Alfa Romeo C38

Not been a fan of the primarily white liveries over the last decade but the recent Sauber/Alfa Romeos have come as a revelation to me. Extending the red to cover the Halo is a minor improvement over the C37. I could easily pick a few other lookers from this year's lineup but this comes out on top.

2017 Toro Rosso STR12

Disregarding the livery, I'd argue that this is the best design of the decade.

Regarding the livery itself, I'd argue that it's the best of the decade. Though my other choices are all strong contenders for that title.

2011 Red Bull RB7

image_100362308_l.jpg

Not a lot can be said for the livery as it remained largely unchanged since 2005, but for a car designed around the blown diffuser concept, the RB7 physically just looked right: from pretty much any angle, the proportions were spot on.

2016 Mercedes W07

mercedes-amg-f1-w07-hybrid-car-wallpaper-40186.jpg

As well as the W09, this has probably the best variation of the livery used by the team from 2014 to 2018. It's also the best all-round looking car from the pre-2017 rule set – the side-on profile is stunning.

2018 Ferrari SF71H

F1-2018-Ferrari-F1-Car-SF71H.png

Even in the new age of halo-fitted cars, Ferrari pulled a blinder with their 2018 contender. Heavily detailed and intricate where it mattered most, yet simple in its visual execution. Similar to the Red Bull RB7, the SF71H doesn't look bad from any angle. Shame really that a certain sponsor ruined the livery when it was applied to the car in Japan...

2018 Toro Rosso STR13

Formula-One-2018-6.jpg

There are a lot of people who really like the Cola variant of the Red Bull livery, myself included. Of the three cars that've worn it so far, the STR13 would be my pick of the bunch.

Personally I think the 2017 cars are second only to the 2008 cars as all time best looking

2017 will be remembered as a watershed because of the halo but I cannot agree with 2008, the nadir of wings with fins with ridges with winglets.

I love them, they're short compact and look like some mad spaceship!

2012 HRT F112
gp_canada_d1.jpg

The car looks simple and clean. The livery stands out and isn't ugly. The combination of gold, red and white worked surprisingly well.

2011 HRT F111
hrt_liuz_silv_2011-3.jpg

Same as above. Just with a more wacky livery and looks a bit cooler.

2016 Manor MRT05
XPB_790034_HiRes.jpg

The colour combination works well and the styling works well with the bodywork. Stands out against everything else and the car's one of the better looking excluding the livery.

2011 Mclaren MP4-26
4730-1.jpg

A Vodafone Mclaren livery with the stylings of the 2011 Mclaren with those spaceship sidepods and the nose before it was ruined in 2012.

When this tournament was originally conceived, we did the 2010s, and somehow the winner of that tournament didn't make it to the finals at all - Ferrari 2010

When 2 of your nominations get beaten by a 2010 Virgin.

I just mentioned it in their thread but it's actually refreshing to see two backmarkers in the running for best-looking. We seldom got that in the other decades. Not until the Jordan 191 (which was competitive) and the Jaguar R1 as well Arrows A22 nomination did we get nominations which weren't "front-runners I remember so they stick out more".
