Ok so I'm finally starting to settle on some specific settings for my ER32, and I must say that I've come pretty close to my goal of immitating Nomura's setup. Wish I could get just a little more power though! Anyway, any Nomura fans out there please take my Skyline for a drive and let me know what you think of it:

http://pergatory.net/gt3/settings.html#R32TypeM
(it's the last one on the list right now)

Now remember, it's tuned D1-style, so don't be trying any huge corners with it. That's right, no Tokyo 246 for this beast. It'll do big corners, it just won't be very impressive. The courses I tuned it on are Cote d'Azur (this was where most of the magic happened), Deep Forest, Special Stage Route 11, and Trial Mountain II.

I didn't copy his same exact settings, I don't even know what they are. I had to tune this car up from scratch so that it handled like Nomura's car looks like it handles. It wasn't easy =)

lol, ok. I was able to get Koguchi's current setup. My car is just about exactly the same as his. I love it, and no I won't tell you my setup.:D

Hahaha, that's cool. Koguchi also has a pretty nice setup too. I don't understand why so many of the drifters use exactly the same setup and style. Nomura, Koguchi, and sometimes some of the others like Ueo & Taniguchi stand out... that's about it though.

The only car close the Nomuken's skyline is the Chaser. (which I love using hehe), but I'll definitely test out your settings anyway.

oh yeah and which Koguchi settings are you talking about? the Green 180sx he uses in D1 comps, red 180sx beater car, or a different one..I know the Green one has like 500hp which is pretty sweet.

his D1 car

I know what the cars look like. I'm saying, I thought he retired the green 180 and built the red 180. Are you trying to say he still uses the green 180 to compete in D1? BTW... I'd hardly call the red 180 a beater.

by normal standards, it's not a beater..by D1 standards, it is...and I didn't say it was a beater..I said it was "his beater". As far as I know, the Green car is his D1 car, but since it's pushing out like 500hp, it's not really reliable, so he used his red car for the D1 demo and drivers search thing in Cali. I've also heard he's got a purple 180sx and possibly an S14 that he drives, but I don't know how true that is.

EDIT: I forgot to say..if you look at the mods on the Red one, they're pretty basic...it puts out like 300hp

Why are all these cars SR20DET powered. Like THAT one for instance, Why don't they use the CA18DET? It's got rev's galore, and isn't that one of the more important things. Sustaining?

i think it's mostly because the ca18det is an old engine...I think they stopped making them in like 1990 or something (not sure on that)...but to be honest, I don't really know why they don't use the ca, I'm sure there's a good reason though.

Koguchi's old black 180sx had a CA18DET in it I'm pretty sure. They don't use it now is cause it's old and underpowered. At least that's my guess.

The SR20 is simply a better block, really. It's one of the best 4-cylinder blocks (if not the best). It's built tougher and can pump out more power. Who needs revs when you can just stretch out the gears to compensate? Turbochargers eliminate the need for high revs.

hey perg, do the settings help u smoke ur tires like hell, jsut like Nomu? it'd b pretty cool, hopefully in GT4 the smoke will b more realistic

You can get some pretty good smoke considering that it's on sports tires with only 445hp. Nothing like Nomura's in real life though, unfortunately (doesn't make the cars behind you disappear). I hope they do realistic smoke in GT4 too. I mean what the hell, it's a game, if anything the smoke should be exaggerated!

pergatory good . i saw your vid preety good btw can i use your setup to gtr-34 because it same right both 4wd ....:D

he still uses hos green 180 for D1 competition...and sometimes mountain runs. I have a video on my comp where the Option crew accidentally bumps into Koguchi using his green 180, on the way to a mountain pass. they interview him for a sec, then he goes and battles a blue R32...

Haha thx, but this thread is actually about my rear-wheel drive R32 GTS-t at the bottom of the settings page. The AWD R34 isn't tuned too bad either but I haven't spent nearly as much time on it, nor am I as good at AWD drifting in general so my knowledge about tuning those cars isn't as good.
