If you NEVER use ASM or TCS on ANY of your cars, then check in here. :)

Whenever i get a new car, the first thing i do is put ASM & TCS on 0 and then go test the car.
All my 1/4 mile times are done with cars which have the traction control, and Anti-Slip controls set to zero.

IMO if you use traction control, then you are not a true Gran Turismo driver.

There's no way you can make an assessment of a new car with either TCS or ASM on - it completely masks the character of the car.

It depends on the car. But for a more realistic drive I turn them off. But not all real race cars, have no TCS or ASM. Some F-1 cars have these. Plus some of the Cars that are sold in the real=world come with preset TCS and ASM. So if you turn them off your not always getting the real effect of the car.

What a coincidence.

I am doing that on all my cars.

I am picking them one by one, take tcs/asm off and test them.

However, my question, is that real? I mean, do actually race cars race without tcs/asm, is that for real? Is that true, then I am on the right patch :D

Even if some cars do have TCS etc. in real-life, i will still remove it in the game.

I'm pretty sure cars dont have tcs, but they do have limited slip. Make sure u note the difference

i never use either of them. It makes the game more realalistic without it.

It is a difference , but cars can have LSD , TCS or both... LSD is a mechanical thing and you can't "turn it off" if a car has it... Then TCS (or whatever , manufacturers think of 1000 names for the same thing) is just a computer system that uses the sensors similar to those from ABS systems... when any of the wheels start to spin faster then the others then the electronics put brakes on , put less throttle , more throttle etc. And this can be turned off... it goes for systems like BMW's DSC , Porsche's PSM , Audi&VWs ESP , Toyota TCS (f.e. in supra) , Lexus TC... they can be turned off... some cars have a permanent traction control that can't be shut down... But LSD is somehow other thing... It's just with the Gearbox f.e. in a porsche 968 ... And it can't be turned off , because it's not an electronic device... but we have Limited Slip and TCS in GT so it's actually like the real world... So please don't confuse other members...

depends on what u buy ! a nissan sunny from 94 will hardly have tcs, u'd probably find it in a ford mondeo though :)

like in my thread the only time i like to not use TCS or ASM is when doing the time trials!!!

Which is always frustrating because your tyres will wear out faster with TCS/ASM , but they go slower than me so it doesnt matter. Limited Slip diff is very usefull and it helps you go fater unlike TCS/ASM. They should of had it like GT2 with the Traction controll as an optional extra, hold on there was a guy on TV who looks like ric flair!

In real life, I'm not that fussed about TCS - we had it on our last car, a Holden Vectra, and whilst it was handy from an uphill standing start in the wet, I came to regard it as a pain in the backside - I can see how it would be useful in places that get ice and snow.

With the Liberty/Legacy and AWD traction simply isn't an issue. ASM is available on the next model up but I don't know if I'd actually bother with it, the chassis already has very high limits even in poor conditions - I'd prefer side airbags over ASM.

However, if I had a powerful rear driver car, I would probably opt for both. Sydney roads get very slick when you get the first rain for a week, and given the times I drive (i.e. to and from work) I can use all the help I can get. I'm sure my partner would prefer it as well.

As for ABS - compulsory. I won't buy a car without it.
