I bought Chaparal 2j and noticed it doesn't have black interior like others regular cars, but simple low res dashboard with moving wheel. Dials are not moving, jet it's still much better than the regular unplayable blackness. I imagine it's not the single case, so does anyone know of other cases of non premium cars with interior?

Most of the Standard cars that have no top are like this.

Caterham, Prowler, most of the Standard LMP cars, etc.

If it's open top, it should have a somewhat modeled interior, since there's nothing to stop it being seen from the exterior. It would look a bit strange to have a bottomless black pit in your Toyota 7, now wouldn't it?

your steering wheel on the 2J actually moved?? if I remember correctly my wheel was solid but my drivers hands were gliding around it haha.

standards are just pathetic.
I had this problem on the Auto Union. But the 2J's wheel worked fine. So if it wasn't working then...it might have been fixed in an update. But I haven't checked the Auto Union itself.

Also, Standards are unfortunately part of what the game gets by on. The variety is sort of necessary.

I remember in gt3 and 4, you able to drive your convertible cars with roof down and you can see the interior of the car but in gt5 and 6 these cars are only available with roof up and roof up means no interior. I don't understand why pd did that? You could just put the interior of these cars (roof down) with (roof up one) and re-edit it.

Nearly every single convertible Standard in the game should have an interior (as they had them in GT4), but for whatever reason PD has not allowed their use.

Atleast we still have the Prowler. For GT7 I predict that PD will make the Prowler a Premium car.

Effectively trolling the entirety of GTPlanet's GT7 section and causing a supreme of butthurt that even a proctologist cannot deal with.

The Prowler even has premium textures in the steering wheel and door panels. The dashboard isn't that bad either, but not up to the quality of a premium. You can't see the hood though.

So the M4 is premium? No interior, can't be painted, can't be modified... seems standard to me.

It's been mentioned a future update will give the M4 an interior (and other functionalities too hopefully)

Still isn't premium. That's like saying the Countach was a premium in GT5, because it would later on become a premium.

To be fair, there isn't a clear cut definition of premium in GT6. However, I was just suggesting a way people would identify a car being 'premium' is by having a gallery view option. If a car hasn't got a gallery view option, then it is deemed as a standard. Cars without a gallery view and with an interior are what the OP is searching for I guess.

The only premium cars without an interior are the following:
-BMW M4*
-Toyota Ft-86 Prototype II
-Nissan GTR Protoype
-Mercedes Benz Vision GT Concept

* will be added in an update

To argue for the sake of arguing:

What defined 'premiums' in GT5 was content post GT4. The way to spot it was they included modeled interiors and better looking exteriors.

In GT6 the definition still remains the same but the express mention is out of the game. However, the way to spot this post GT4 content is Gallery View.

Therefore, the M4 not having an interior is not an exception to the rule. Furthermore, the obvious reason why it doesn't have an interior yet is PD could have not realistically got a chance to scan it, which will be certainly solved shortly. In other words, the M4 is premium and not a new distinction.

There's two Countach models (simplifying things up): GT4's, used in GT5 as well, and GT6's. The latter version has a modeled interior and is 'premium'.

I think that we are looking at the Semi-Premium definition wrongly. Because there is a clear difference between touched up Standards like the Mitsubishi GTO and Nissan Skyline R33's.

And cars that should be considered Premium cars without an interior, AE86's, 300ZX Z31 and the R390, the first two even have working pop up headlights! Those kind of cars are clearly build from scratch and have nothing to do with their previous standard counterparts.

The Nissan R390 both the road and race are not interior view but the exterior look they're goin to work on it..there's also a few cars that looks there premium

My Toyota 7 has a moving steering wheel too, and the M4 is a semi-premium

More confusing is that the Ferrari California had its top down in GT5, but doesn't now in GT6. At least they improved the cockpit view for it considerably (though I'd still prefer it zoomed-out even more).

Another way (more quicker) to find out if a car in a dealership is premium - look closely at windscreen. If it's totaly black (matte) then it's a standard. But if you can see steering wheel through it - it's premium.
