Another way (more quicker) to find out if a car in a dealership is premium - look closely at windscreen. If it's totaly black (matte) then it's a standard. But if you can see steering wheel through it - it's premium.

It's better if you look if the car has a Gallery View option, if it does not, it is standard... because there are a handful of standard cars that has a visible steering wheel IIRC, just like @FastTech said

But it works in GT5 :D

Define premium. Because the game doesn't.

A car modelled specifically for PS3 (and future) hardware from the ground up, made for GT5P, GT5 or GT6 in full HD graphics. Having a fully modelled interior is not what makes a car premium but rather being a premium is what gives a car a fully modelled interior. Of course there are exceptions to this as mentioned below.

What defines a standard is a PS2/PSP model carryover that was not originally created for GT5P/GT5/GT6 and was not created from the ground up with full HD graphics (in fact, most are straight from PS2, untouched). Many premiums have been upgraded, with some parts of certain models looking very close to premium quality -- these have been labelled "semi-premium" around here, although at the end of the day they are still standard models (PS2 models with facelifts).

So the M4 is premium? No interior, can't be painted, can't be modified... seems standard to me.

The M4 is a premium as it was modelled for GT6 in full HD quality. It's not a PS2 quality car carried over and is therefore not a standard. It has no interior but will in an update, but regardless that doesn't make it premium or standard. It has full body panel separation, fully modelled headlamps, and was clearly created from the ground up in HD graphics.

The GT-R Proto from GT5P is another example of a premium without an interior. Its exterior is clearly the same quality as the normal GT-R and it only lacks an interior because the car was a prototype and had no designed interior to model. It was also definitively listed as a premium in GT5.

Also, lacking customization options does not define whether a car is premium or standard either. Premium race cars can't be painted or modified and they're certainly not standards.

Still isn't premium. That's like saying the Countach was a premium in GT5, because it would later on become a premium.

Nope. The Countach in GT5 was a carryover from GT PSP, which effectively made it a PS2 standard. It was actually a bit better than PS2 graphics (having been modelled well after GT4) and thus it was one of the best standards in GT5, but the Countach was completely re-modelled for GT6 and is a fully premium car now. Its exterior is clearly superior to that of GT5's standard Countach.

The Jay Leno Tank Car is a standard, but has a lovely interior - or at least it did in GT5, haven't tried it in GT6 yet.

More confusing is that the Ferrari California had its top down in GT5, but doesn't now in GT6. At least they improved the cockpit view for it considerably (though I'd still prefer it zoomed-out even more).

man I'm SO glad the California has it's top up lol

Toyota 7
Chaparral 2J
Formula Gran Turismo
Audi Auto Union V16 Streamliner
Suzuki GSX-R/4

All the listed cars have the same interiors as GT5, aside from the Formula Gran Turismo's interior which has been remodelled to a higher quality. However, none of them have working dials (including the FGT), and as an added bonus, the Streamliner's steering wheel doesn't even move.

i think the prowler has a working interior. i dont have the car, so i dont know. it's still got a standard exterior (very polygonal and somewhat pixelated)

I thought premium was more specifically defined by the number of polygons combined with the texture qualities... You can usually tell a semi-premium apart because the textures still look a little pixelated, or even "washed-out" when light reflects off of it - almost like the new lighting engine isn't taking full effect. Also, even with Adaptive Tesselation, you can often see a lack of polies in the standard models vs. The premiums.

The GT-R prototype was a premium concept car, and am interior never existed, yet it was premium. So does this all of a sudden not apply to the Vision GT cars as well? The only reason why the M4 doesn't have one yet is because PD hasn't gotten their scanners on it. (Or rather just haven't finished it yet). It isn't semi-premium, it's "unfinished-premium"...

Great. ANOTHER classification.

For people who said Ferrari California is only available with top down in gt5 there is way to make it with top up but you have to add a rear wing to it in order you it like that.
Test it if you can.

sorry for off topic.

That's not true actually.
