Noob to F12010F1 2010-2016

Hey guys im new to F12010, yeah i know f12011 is about to come out. I guess i'll be getting that a year or so after everyone else has it too! HAHA, so i just completed the long practice and qualifying session for Bahrain, and im about to start the race i guess tonight or tomorrow. I qualified in 1st with a lap time of 1.57.xxx. Im using a controller since DFGT is dead, the difficulty setting is medium and im not sure what the AI setting is (whatever it is right out of the box). Is my lap time average? I'm driving in a Lotus. I've looked at the Leader board times in the time trial and i just dont see where i can find all that time on track? I think the top lap was something like 1.16.xxx? How i the hell is that possible? Everyone else was 1.3x.xxx.

1.57 is heaps good I believe. You are sure you are racing on Bahrain, the very first track?
I have just been signed to Red Bull and in my first practice I could only achieve a 2.03 I believe. The AI on legend can only achieve 2.00 I believe.
As for the leader board. Don't worry about it. Many people cheat in one way or another.

i think the best lap I'v had there was 1:56ish.. So yeah a pretty decent lap..

yeah its Bahrain, its nice to know im lapping decently. i know theres more time out on track especially in the first and second sectors. I did a one lap race as Vettel and my lap was a 2.02 and i was floored cause at the time my best flying lap was a 2.01, i can only imagine what lap times i'll be running when i move on to a top team.

I got 1:55 in Q2 in a ferrari. I think that is a good lap. but i have a question, if i get faster lap time than M. schumi's rekord do my name pop upp at the record list?

At Bahrain, it shouldn't be possible... For 2010 only, they used an additional section (where you pass into sector 2) which adds 8 corners and about 40 seconds to the lap.... On other tracks though, again I don't think it would be easy at all to match the times since the record is probably from 2004 where they had V10's. If you do break the record though, let us know the answer!

1:53.5XX is pretty much possible if you're driving a Ferrari / Red Bull / Mc Laren. You can get like 0.5 seconds off the AI on Legendary on most of the tracks. With the right setup, that is.

Yet, your time is great for starters - have fun tonight / tomorrow, that's all that matters.

Yeah well, so I was bored and wanted to know how low I can go. Yet, my McLaren hasn't gotten any upgrades yet (first race, new season). 1:51.312, set during the race - automatic gearbox, everything else on "Legend". My best is like 1:52.xxx with a Ferrari with Traction Control ON, however I race for Mercedes GP now on expert mode with no Traction Control or ABS and I had 1:53.xxx (manual aswell) Got pole against legendary AI obv...

Your time is good, however what aids have you got on, cuz TC and ABS give you about 1.5 secs a lap...

btw try racing with TC and ABS off like in reality, try to beat the record then... (I beat the track record on every track tho...)

No. For one thing, that figure is just statistical data, displaying real-world information. It doesn't care if you somehow manage to beat it in the game, because it isn't reflecting virtual performance. It's a factoid.

He's right and you're ignorant. 2010 is the only F1 season using that configuration of the track. Schumacher didn't set a lap record of 1:30.252 on the circuit appearing in 2010, but rather on the shorter circuit. The official fast lap for the circuit as it appeared in 2010 is Alonso's 1:58.287.

Am I the ignorant one? I knew about different track layout for 2010... For 2009 the track didn't the the extra section after turn 3....
