Noobie wheel+gt5 question

Hi everyone,

I bought a Thrustmaster F430 FFB wheel recently, and I am trying to figure out the settings. It works REALLY well with F1 2011 but I can't figure GT5 out: when I am losing grip slightly, the game suddenly starts countersteering for me, even when I am trying to corner. So when I am trying to steer, the game suddenly makes ffb go the other way at full force. This isn't working for me, is it supposed to be this way?

Yes, turning off active steering should help on this, but I can't say whether or not what you describe is normal for your wheel :).
 
I already tried both on and off... Sorry, should have mentioned that...

Anyone has the same wheel, or a similar one?

After some research, I might've found the problem. The F430 has only got 270° of turning range, which means the top option ("simulation") most likely affects your wheel. Try one of the two other options and see if it helps :).
 
I think this is normal on a wheel.
I'm using a Logitech DF EX, not the pro, nor the GT, but the EX.

So for me, there's also a force counterstearing.

@MonGnoM I don't know. Since the ffb is on 1 and it was still considerably stronger than Shift 2 on 40% it doesn't seem right and it's annoying to play. I guess I am also a bit afraid to break the wheel...

I think you just have to get the feeling for it.
 
I tried all the settings, no succes...

To better explain the problem: it just seems to go full force against me at about 10 degrees and when I am losing grip it seems to countersteer automatically even though I have all assists off and put the wheel options on simulation. I am thinking this might be a problem with the game, as in it doesn't apply the settings to my wheel and it remains on standard. That would explain the countersteering assist and the fact that changing the options doesn't work.

Looks like there is no solution, but I got Shift 2 to work (steering sensivity to 0) so I probably won't get back into GT5 unless a solution will still come up soon . I prefer the car list, tuning and interiors from S2U anyway, although the physics are a bit better in GT5.

believe me, it is normal, when your car gets loose, the wheel automaticly counterstears, but you have to give the wheel the right direction.

It is normal!!!
