My gt3 was scratched from time ago, but still kept on playing it. Besides the clicking sounds, I didnt care, because I still wanted to play the game.

So, just right now, I cleared the Amateur League Series, got my Viper, and went straight to Lenny Kravitz video, my favorite song, and guess what?

The cd gets stuck in there.......

arggggghghghghghhghg.

So I have a scratch, and the very best song I wanted to listen, can no longer be listened.

Now you say, at least you didnt get the scratch over a gameplay part, but noooooo, you think wrong.

I am going to get another copy. I need this game as complete as I want it to be.

Is it a really big scratch? Because your lens might just be a little dusty, My PS2 was very dust and made lots of noises, and when I rented games they didn't work at all. So I got a new PS2 for free (warranty :) ) Now it will play any CD/DVD no matter how scratched. I think when the PS2 lens gets dusty it has a lot more trouble reading scratched DVD’s. You might want to invest in getting you PS2 cleaned if you hear grinding or clicking noises. But then again it could just be the DVD.

But check this out http://db.gamefaqs.com/console/ps2/file/ps2_disc_read_error.txt, it has helped other people with PS2 problems, but if you don’t feel comfortable opening you PS2 or it’s still under warrant don’t do it.

Thanks for the tip, but I still wont open it.

I am pretty sure is the gt3 dvd only. All of my other games work fine, only gt3. That is what happens when you let your relatives play with your games without your own supervision.

thats nothing, imagine racing the enduro (the 1 with the miata) and u actually got the f1, but the game froze all he sudden, or power died....

You could just buy a new disc, only 40$ AU...in the mean time take better care of your discs.

Well it depends; did you get it a future shop and get the extended warranty? I got a 2 year warranty so if you got the same one it should be good till Christmas 2003, check your receipt to find out. I just walked in and said I was getting disc read error a lot and they gave me a new one no questions asked. Well not brand new, it was one that had been returned within 30 days of purchase, but that was good cus they forgot to check the tray and need for speed hot pursuit 2 was in there.
