Nordschleife 4 Hr Endurance: more than 4 hours?

I've B-Spec'd the nurbugring/nordschleife 4 hour endurance race 2x.

The first time, i exited out at 4 hours 6 minutes,

the second time, i exited out at 4 hours 10 minutes?

Both times, i made sure that it was the Nurburgring -4- hour enduro and not the 24!

what is going on,
how does this thing end?

I was ahead of the pack by at least 4-5 laps....
i was bspecing at 3x speed.

I'm not sure why you're in a panic about it, but I'm sure the timed races end when you cross the finish line after the time is up. So your 4h6 makes sense, the four hours was up but you were still six minutes from the finish line.

Timed races end when the lead car crosses the finish line when the time expires. Now sometimes in real life they will stop a minute or two short so the lead car doesn't have to run another lap. Not in GT4, you can cross the finish line one second before time expires, and still have to run another lap.

I think that in some real-life timed events, T&S (timing and scoring) makes a decision when to show the white flag -- 1 lap to go -- based on their estimate of the leader's current pace and the current remaining time. The actual elapsed time when the leader crosses the finish line to end the race means nothing -- the decision to end it was made a lap ago when the white flag flew.

This helps to eliminate a situation where the leader may slow his car substantially (and dangerously) in an attempt to shorten the race by a lap -- maybe he's low on fuel. With the rules as given above, he'd have to do so before the final lap, and it gets much trickier to actually pull off -- for one, he could be black flagged as a safety hazard if he slows to a dangerous level.

LMAO @ crack luv the avatat / note lol! 👍

Yes, it says it is 4 hour endurance. That means, that you must drive more than 4 hours. And the race allwasy finishes at the start/finish line so actually the race lasts more than 4 hours - it stops any time when you cross the line after 4 hours. And on Nurburgring that is harder, because the lap takes several minutes ... :)

ello peeps, couple questions if u guys dont mind,

WHATS THE BEST CAR TO DO THIS track( Nordschleife 4 Hr Enduranc ) WITH????????????

as i dont have a great deal of nice cars,

Q2)
ALSO any ideas on which car would be the best to B-SPEC the
Nurburgring 24 Hours Endurance, cos there is no way on gods will i sit in front of the TV FOR 24 hours, f that... :)

THANK YOU 👍

As I recall the competition cars on the 24 hour ring race aren't like, race cars or anything. You can do a race preview and check it out, but you should have won some cars by now that should easily kill them. Off the top of my head, do you have that JGTC Motul/Pitwork Z?

I think Crack summed it up for you.

Anyways, for anyone who wants to a taste of 4 hour Nurb., but hasn't reach 25%, race the 1000 mile championship. The first race is a 25 lap Nurb. race which took me 3:45 in a '70 Corvette Stingray stock.

Yeah but if you're several laps ahead, can you just stop at the finish line with say 5 min to go and wait for the 24:00:00 mark and then cross a few seconds later? Don't have to worry about drivers getting killed in GT4, although I wouldn't mind, it IS my b-specker after all...

Wow, in GT4 you could, but in real racing, more than likely, you'd probably be penalized.

Yeah I was talking about GT4 only.

Speaking of real life... Anybody remember that ad for the racing Nissans in the early '90's that was in magazines (R&T, etc.)? It said something to the effect of... they were so far ahead in the endurance race that they had time to pull the cars in the pits and completely clean the exterior for the photos in victory lane. I'll have to see if I can find some info on that. I remember thinking it was pretty cool.
