Best setting is just perfectly balanced. everybody wants both, people want it to last long AND want it to give a long boost, just balance in between and you get both as much as you can.

In endurance races, I tend to set it low long blasts, where as in short races, I tend to keep it shorter heavier blasts.

Again, preference and situation determines the appropriate use.

I tend to set it so can use it coming out of any big corners onto streets, every time for said corners, for the whole race. However, if the race is too long, I'll just crank it fairly high to help with bursts of speed if I am having trouble passing, or there are just a few places where I am having some trouble getting around consistently.

Der Alta does have it all good it seems like, its very much a matter of taste and situation.

I fail to see how that post contributed to a two-week-old thread in any way. Bringing up old threads without adding anything useful to the discussion is against the Common Sense Rules for Posting, which I'm having to quote an awful lot lately... :indiff:

So as not to chain-link off spam and create more, I'll add that for top-speed testing, only the maximum nitrous power bias is any use - duration helps not a jot.

Default DS2 button is R1. It's R2 on the DFP. On the center console, there is a blue tank with 10 blocks and a red tank (on the side of the tachometer) with 10 blocks. The blue is your fuel, the red is your Nitrous.

That is one (of few) thing explained fairly well in the manual...

The application of nitrous oxide (Wrongly termed 'NOS' or Nitrous Oxide System/s in which is a product the company Holley produces) in GT4 is rather sporadic, therefore it's use is entirely up to you and your driving style.

For single lap races, or races where it's use at full would never run out, I apply it fully (Usually 50-100) and hold it on for the remainder of the race. However, it can be argued that the use of nitrous oxide in Gran Turismo actually improves your turning capabilites, thus, using it in turns can be just as effective as on straights.

Either way, it's basically a matter of trial & error when it comes to using to it's upmost, especially in time-trials. With single-lap time-attacks, I usually use large amounts in less areas rather than small amounts in many areas.

👍.

I just discovered nitrous. I only use it when i enter a race in which i'm way underqualified. :ouch: I mean, sometimes you just don't know how underqualified you are till you're actually in the race. So it helps when there's some car that gets a huge lead over the others to catch up to it thru the use of nitrous.

...but anyone who uses it all the time is basically cheating.

^How is it cheating if you're using a natural function of the game? It's no more cheating than using S3 tires in a "N/S Tires only" race, or tuning up an Elise 111R to win the Tsukuba 4hr Endurance, or any other modification done to a relatively underpowered car to make it competitive. Actually, it's limited in its use, therefore it requires a bit of strategy, making it even less of a cheat than any power/suspension/aero modification. If it were something hidden or coded, I would agree, but you can just go to a tune shop and buy it outright.

That =/= cheating.

When I had my Prelude (first car dont laugh) the nitrous shot on a corner would help pull the car to the inside. I would guess that helps on any FF car.
