Is there anything I'm doing wrong or am I just unlucky and my copy doesn't think I deserve them Thanks for your help.

You can do it from Seasonals, Practice, and Special Events as well. B-Spec and (still unsure of this) online are the only ones you can't use to get the 1000 mileage.
