Not getting alerts from Watched Threads

Click on "watched threads" in the forum list to stay up to date. If you don't click on a notification for a thread, you won't be notified about that thread again until you actually visit the thread.
 
Watched thread alerts may not work as you think they do.

You will only be alerted to the first new post which is made to a watched thread. Subsequent posts will not trigger a new alert until you have visited the thread again. This can sometimes cause confusion because if you ignore a watched thread alert, it won't be triggered until you visit the thread again, which creates an illusion that you were not being alerted.

Basically, the alert system should not be solely relied upon to keep track of watched threads. As @S_Bridge mentioned above, use the "Watched Threads" button on the forum home page to see which of your watched threads have new activity.

For tag alerts, keep in mind that alerts will only be sent if a user is tagged in the original post. If a user is tagged in an edit, they will not be alerted.
 
Thank you both, I didn't realize that watched thread button was there, I'll have to start using that.
