This address allowed users of this forum to send POSITIVE critic to Sony.

I do not agree with moderator snOOpie to close this thread. If people do not like it, a thread will die a fast dead by itself.

What's done now, smells like censoring 👎

So please re-open.

And now to do a pleasure to the users who did not like that thread : hip hip hoorah for GT4, hip hip hoorah for GT4, hip hip hoorah for GT4!!

It wasn't censoring (well maybe a little), but basically the thread had few people complaining about 2 things, the garage battle and .. forgot the other one. Rest of the people said "get over it" basically and that was it. Can't see the point in reopening in it.

It's not about what's allowed, you know. A thread like that, in the end, serves only to ignite flame wars between the critics and the fans. That's why the thread was closed.

Dude, it's a game, either you like it and buy it, or you don't. For every 20 of you who have a gripe about the game, there's another 5,000 who will buy it as is.

It's not forbidden to critique GT4, but sending e-mail to Sony about missing "garage battle" and how it was the only thing you were looking forward to, is ... wrong.

I agree that the decision to close the thread was rather "stalinist".

Freedom of speech is important. No foul language was used.

People have a right to debate the merits or otherwise of the game. I am crazy about GT4 and cannot wait for its release. To me I know it will be my best game ever, but at the same time I strongly believe that all members should be able to voice their opinions on the game regardless of whether negative or positive.

The thread DID serve a purpose. Members could use the thread to state their likes and dislikes, and so what if there was repetition. There is a difference between having lots of repetitive threads (which should indeed be closed) to having one where every can say their "fors" and "againsts".

I was extremely shocked to see this thread closed. No other forum I have ever come across would be so dictatorial to close such an interesting thread.

That thread was useless since it was just a bunch of people whining and planning to bug PD with that whining.

This thread is just as useless.

If you have a problem with a moderator, take it up with them. There's no need to start another thread.

You really are enjoying trying to tell people what to do and how to act, aren't you Buggy Boy? First you pull it in my thread, now this.

Well, he is a self proclaimed realism fanatic.

Get a clue, please. No one was taking away anyone's freedom of speech.

And we already have various complaint threads. Write in them instead of writing in yet another that will just bug a company that gave you your damn game.

I know, I will also buy it, even with that damned crowd cheering sound effect on every track that will bore me endlessly. But it is the best simulator still imo.

Does not mean that it is forbidden to give some (probably appreciated) feedback comments to Sony. That closed thread gave an entry point for such comments and that is very usefull imo.

Agreed. I would imagine they dont look forward to this part of a games release. They probably get tons of email about how the tires on a car look an inch off from 1964 spec and how it has 2 colors it shouldnt.

For: GT4
Against: This thread.

Yet another waste of Jordan's bandwidth IMO.

I agree with sn00p - Closing that thread was the only sensible thing to do... Now close this as well as the "Are you disappointed" thread...

No one forces you to buy GT4...

Blah blah first ammendment. Blah blah censorship.

This isn't America. This is the United Principality of Jordan. Shut up, you blabbering patriot, and play your damn game.

:)

Some people might think in one way while others think in another way right?

The threadstarter with his first two lines said

"It's about friggin' time that we said something. I love GTPlanet, but this is still a fansite and Sony, as big as they are, won't pay too much attention from here."
I dont really know if that is true at all, nor what u base it on. I mean, GTP have a XBOX, PS2 and a PC forum aswell. And, that is to me not even needed in a Gran Turismo forum but its a GREAT addition (sp?) to the forums. I can see how he thinks but i cant agree on it at all.

we are not telling them to put new features in, we are simply complaining about a important feature that has been lost
Very good post if you ask me but, i cant say that everyone was _not_ trying to convince SCEE/PD to delay the game in order to put the garages in 2 player battle mode back in... I dont know about everyone but im just feeling: [crazy] JUST GIVE ME THE GAME  [/crazy]

I dont post alot in theese forums, mainly because i feel like "why the heck should i post when i aint got anything usefull/meaningfull to add to this thread". Dont know but i sometimes think that some people could try to think the same way. Just because the thread isnt about something that i would like to discuss doesnt mean that noone is allowed to discuss it right? :dunce:

But, i do think that sn00pie could have atleast told you his reason(s?) for closing that thread. :scared:
If you still feel like complaining about the missing features, or whatever it is you are missing, i think you should follow Famines example and
Famine
I have a constructive letter I have written to SCEE - who will be in charge of localisation in Europe. It's a formal letter, typed, printed, sealed in an envelope and delivered to the head of HR by a nice man in a red van. Who probably owns a black and white cat.

Everyone remember, WE CAN NOT all enjoy the same things. Discuss it, sure but respect opinions it aswell.
Well, sorry if i offended someone, just wanted to toss my oppion in here.

No! I must send a long complaining E-Mail to scea, who will definitely listen to some random person e-mailing them! If I can't do this, the moderators of this site are all communists! (Especially PuckRock and MyCrotch)

I demand it!

A forum is a dictatorship. You don't elect the initial leader - you enter his country and he elects helpers as he develops his government. If you don't like the rules, you are swiftly dealt with. Go find another country to spread your anarchy.

I guess if the server for the forum is on US soil, that makes it a US territory in cyberspace?

Can America annex a portion of the internet??? :scared:

Can someone point to or explain the definition for a Public Forum because after reviewing the T.O.S., I saw the following:

Members must realize that this board is not public domain and
membership can be withdrawn by the board owner at any time.

Yet, I thought any online forum was automatically deemed to be public & thereby free to post almost anything?
(I know there are always exceptions, like name-calling, offensive slurrs, anything dealing with pornograhy, etc. etc.)

Thx in advance for any clarification! 👍

The thread was closed (and will remain closed) because it ended up in a useless discussion.

If I were to censor you, I would have deleted the thread entirely - wouldn't I? It's still out there, Buggy Boy, for everyone to read. So don't worry about it.

And now I'm closing this. A follow-up thread wherein you continue this complaint will not be validated.
