So I reported a post earlier that I think should have a "not safe for work" tag added to the title, as it has some content that fits that description. Obviously it's been ignored, but I do still recommend that something be done. Some threads I look forward to checking for new content, and if items are going to be placed within them that are not safe to view while I am at work, then I will be staying away from them.

Discovering these items with no warning is not cool, and I'm sure others will agree with me. So, I recommend the title of the thread gets changed or the content be removed.

Thank you.

I'd imagine that posts that aren't "safe for work" are also against the AUP.

👍

This forum is fairly PG, you'd have to be a mega prude to be offended by anything outside of one Infield thread which comes to mind and maybe the funny pic/GIF threads in the Rumble Strip - and those ones hardly need warnings attached. The AUP pretty much ensures that this site is SFW.

I'm confused. You already reported the offending post or thread or whatever to the mods and they felt it not worthy to act on or haven't gotten the time to do it yet, so why would this thread make it any different?

And that's a serious question. No snark intended.

They're not against the AUP I don't believe, but certainly not something I would want a co-worker seeing as they walk behind me. I stay out of the Girls post in the Infield during the day for a reason.

I think it's more of an issue that needs to be addressed as a whole. Probably should have posted it here instead of reporting directly.

Not to be a whiny or something, but isn't GTP as a whole NSFW?

GTPlanet is a website about videogames. Bosses take a dim view of employees wasting work time browsing sites like this and, as a result, we find ourselves in very many corporate web filtering software installations.

Hey Turbo,

Could you post a link to the content in question? If you don't feel comfortable with it that's ok.

I'm asking because I also browse GTP at work whenever I can-- So I want to see if I share your views regarding the content.

Thanks,

It's the Funny GIF thread in the Rumble Strip.

In that case, if I can be completely honest here I wouldn't expect neither the funny vid, GIF or funny pic thread to be safe for work even if the content isn't particularly explicit; the nature of the content itself is just not suitable for a work environment.

I think regardless of the offending post that topic should not be browsed on the job based on common sense. It's like making a thread saying that the "Tribute to beautiful people" topic isn't safe for work.

It's actually the "Amazing GIFs" thread.

And I don't find it offensive or uncomfortable to view at all. Just the fact that it could be a bit of a surprise when you're scrolling through some amazing GIFs and come across something that isn't so great for viewing at work.

And to those saying "you should be working", 80% of my job consists of using the internet. I just keep GTP open in a separate tab to check in on things when I take breaks or when I'm on my lunch. That's not the issue here, so drop it.

Maybe he means that you should be working when you are at work, not playing on the internet.

That's not really the definition of NSFW anymore . But yeah ok.

And indeed, on my half-assed phone network, from which I can't browse GTP as it's on their blocked-list for some reason.

Outside of the Infield thread Villain referred to, I'd say this site is SFW, as much as browsing a site about video games and cars can be SFW when you're supposed to be working.

Kudos to you for not reading my last post.

well if its something you are not sure is appropriate for work then don't look at it at work :) It's not something you absolutely have to do :)

Well I know it's not now, so I'm not. Problem is without the warning you don't know until you discover it unwillingly. 👍

That's ridiculous  What network are you on? 3 seem to let me access almost anything, only the most hardcore sites require a pin and once you've got that it's anything goes

I'm of the opinion that anything humor-related on the internet, no matter how tightly enforced, will contain material that isn't necessarily appropriate for any formal situation. Such is the nature of humor. Of course I still look anyway because I don't care, but whatever. The only thread I don't browse in public is one in the Infield.

Probably Orange, they have some dumbass ruling in place that gets you to call a premium rate line for them to give you a code to unlock websites you should be able to view anyway.
