not so "quick race"

Finally I thought a chance to race online without spending 90% of my time trying to find a lobby to race in to get 1 race before the network crashes. 30mins on quick race and didn't get a single race. Just kept crashing. I've had every version of GT but now I can't wait for project cars. Polyphony, fans only have so much patience.
 
you mean you didn't get a single CLEAN race?

if you mean that you didn't get one single clean race, i'll tell you the same thing but PD is not blame when "racers" don't want to make clean races. i don't think ps3 can handle better "race marshals". maybe at PS4 with FIA's influence.

i did 6 or 7 races and all worked fine and fast. the problem is the drivers not the game.
 
Thanks for the reply. No I didn't get into a race , the server kept locking then kicking me before I got to the warm up session. Finally managed to get 2 races then everyone dropped. I assume driving sims are harder to serve online than shooters, I've never had any problems getting a quick game in on COD etc.
 
some people are saying the same as you but it worked very well for me.
all races started before 2 minuts. its fast, easy and even fun for being so fast and easy. its a good game mode.
 
I couldnt get a race either. Couldnt even get to warm up. Have fibre broadband so no problem at my end. 10 mins later I gave up.
 
It is acting really goofy tonight. Raced a couple races, or should I say got hammered on a couple attempts at racing. When the second race ended & I hit the warm up icon, I was setting in the track like the race was getting ready to start, with another car in front of me. I couldn't move, no buttons worked. I let it sit there about 3 minutes, the car in front of me disappeared. The only way out was to quit the game, it wouldn't just let you exit.
Before that I tried the GT500 cars & it kept resetting, looking for other racers. After about 3 resets I bugged out.
The 500 PP races are just a demo derby.

UK Sevors seem to be working OK today. Don't know if they've sorted the earlier issues. I've been making sure I don't press any buttons until I'm partnered with other cars.
 
I am yet to get a single quick race in from start to finish, despite multiple attempts. I'll give it a go again, but the idea was good, the execution appears to have been diabolical.
 
Well "quick-match" simply doesn`t work for me. When I get to "warm-up" everything freezes. Have to restart the game... Complete malfunction here...No race...No nothing...Typical Sony servers I should say...
 
It took me about four attempt to get into a race, I always manage to pick a car but once I try to turn the traction control and all that stuff off it says that I can't join, and once I managed to get into a race it turned out to be wrestling on four wheels. So much fun. 👎
 
I was able to race multiple times with 6-8 people. We repeat the same race over and over but man... these people just crash and smash into each others like no tomorrow. At the long straight away, they don't brake, they use your car as brake and bammmmmm haha. in the corners, they overshoot them, cut the inside and knock you out of track. If you are too far away, they will run straight and rear end you at the braking point. If you are behind trying to make a pass on the straight, they time it and slam you on the side to push you off the track. What else? In the start, the guys on the back don't brake, they just rocket into everyone. Because of that, in the very first corner, I stayed all the way in the back, and wait for them to kill each others and then I start to pass them cleanly, I usually get 3 positions back with this lol. It is just insane!!!!! Come on people, if you do quick match, race with some common sense!!!
 
attempted quick match again today - entry failed twice, matching failed once, fourth time hung on GT loading logo, reboot, disconnected, entry failed, finally got to play dodgems and then amazing had a decent race once the numbers dwindled to six players - here's a tip PD, make the max players 8 instead of 16 and this might actually work
 
I have had the same problem getting booted off the server but after a couple tries it usually works. That said, the real problem is that the races have no real rules or penalties. Thus, out or about 12 people about three or four know what they are doing and the others just race around willy nilly, crashing, running off the track, cutting corners etc. Sometimes the penalties work sometime not. Not at all realistic but if you get with a civil group it can be fun and challenging.
 
another problem is the boost, too strong get to a point the behind can catch you up even they are one full straight-way behind
 
I've only been disconnected once from quick matches and I've probably done around 10 in the K car rallycross at Stowe.
 
I was fine at Stowe the other night, and fine at Willow, but one of the other events I just couldn't connect to. Keep freezing up on me and I had to reboot, 4 times I think.👎👎
 
I think the quick match races were designed to attract the idiots and cheaters as thats all I see every time I've raced.

I say every time I've raced... but that is about 1 race for every 10 attempts to enter... the servers are so buggy they should rename it "Quick Rage" as that's what I get every time I try.
 
Got into a race about 1/3 of the attempts. Servers seem to be worse this week and Bathurst is my fave. Spewin'
 
Get into a race after 4 or 5 failed attempts, annoying. Once half the people leave a trace, then you might get into the second set, but it wI'll set you up in the end of the first set them reset you into the second set, making you wait another 100 seconds. Waiting 2 minute to not connect is a real pain, then again, then again.

When someone rams you from behind, you get a 10 second penalty, and you fall back four places, or more? Sorry about your luck!
 
I tried it yesterday with a desperate hope I'd see improvements. Eight attempts to finally get into a race, 1st into corner one at Fuji...bump from behind...3 second penalty but I keep second. Perfect into the 2nd corner...bump from behind...5 second penalty and 20 yards off track. Got mad (can't beat 'em, join 'em) and bullied my way through an overtake by tapping wide...2 or 3mph bump...got a 10 second penalty. Quit.

Hopes dashed on the improvements but full marks for making it even worse.

I really need to make the time and get in the GTP race club...
 
Interestingly, even with terrible Aussie internet, I have almost no problem connecting ever... The problem I DO have however is I am yet to compete in an event where I haven't been dive-bombed.
