Hey guys, did a search first but nothing came up. Now, this is going to sound so newbieish coming from me as I didn't know about this until 3 days ago when I got a friend request. :O
The question I want to know is this; If you receive a friend request and reject it, does it just knock it back or is there anything more sinister behind ie. blocking members from seeing your posts?? And if you accept it, does it allow more IM style privileges in contacting eachother rather than clogging up the thread with banter between members??

I await your anwsers head honchos. :)

I don't think it would go to that. From experience, friends just makes it faster to contact them by having them in a sort of address book, rather than having to search the members on the common list.

If you reject a friend request, you will remain on the other user's "contact" list but won't show up in their public friends list. Otherwise, nothing happens.

I'm not sure what you mean by "does it allow more IM style privileges in contacting eachother rather than clogging up the thread with banter between members", but I'm going to assume you are asking if being friends allows you to leave messages on each other's profile pages. The answer will be different according to each user, depending on their privacy settings. Everyone has the option to limit profile messages to only their friends/contacts.

I have another noobish question. How do you accept friend requests? I have one, and the only button I saw was "Save Selection" or something. The Accept Request bullet was ticked. This morning, the request was still pending.

You need to have the checkbox in the top-left corner of that user's avatar (if you have avatars set to shown), then Accept/Reject, then Save Changes.
