Novel idea? XP Bonus / Penalty for 'race quality'

I think GT5 needs more incentive to drive well... since ramming other cars/barriers and cutting corners has virtually no consequence.

What if there was an XP/Reward penalty every time you either had all 4 tires off the driving surface or hit a barrier. For example, every lap that has an 'off' would cut the XP/reward by 15%.

What if there was an XP/Reward BONUS if you go through a whole race without TOUCHING any other car. For example, at the end of the race, if there is no contact with any car, there's a bonus 25% reward.

I don't know exactly how much penalty or bonus there should be, but it shouldn't be minor. The idea is to provide incentive for driving well.

Any thoughts?

In GT Life? GTFO. Seriously.

Online? Have it as a togglable option.

Do what 'other game' does and deduct credits for damage to car, problem solved. Drive like idiot and make contact? Lose money....

I like that idea too.

I was just thinking that if they're going to do the bonus for just playing the game on consecutive days, why don't they add incentive for playing WELL?

But it sounds like it would give a chance to grieve other players. Take a cheap car and ram other people's expensive cars and hear them cry... :(

Great, another one who wants to ruin the game.

Whats the point? Whats the fun?

I have won a racing not touching anything! Now lets touch something.

Its a good proposition but the majority of unclean drivers wouldn't be deterred by reduced credit payouts for slamming racers into walls. In an ideal world, we'd like them to actually care about racers but that's just how GT5 is sadly...

No I'd have to disagree. Experience points don't have much use in a racing sim and I'm not in favor of extending it's effect.

That said I do like the idea of punishing poor driving. I would like to see large credit reward penalties for hitting other cars. Hitting walls and things I'm not worried about, I'm not interested in punishing people for being poor drivers, only stupid ones who ram people

In reality having an incident probably gives you more experience than anything as you know what to do to get your driving right.
