Managers:

As we're headed down to the kickoff of the racing, I have to announce that I'm going in for minor surgery on 1 September 2005.

It's nothing major and I don't expect any complications, but I want to alert everybody that I will be offline all day on 1 September, and probably 2 September as well. So if we have anything to hammer out let's get it done in the next 24 hours if possible. Here's what I see as open issues:

  • Final specs for Round 8 - Caterham at Infineon Stock. I have requested a clarification from Tony and as soon as I get it it I will post the revisions. I expect this to happen within the next 12 hours.
  • Final consensus on AI tires in Arcade mode - are they open for all races since there is no way to verify?
  • Final consensus on "out of bounds". I think it's clear in the final rules, but I would appreciate one last review.
Everything else is, I believe, nailed down pretty securely.

Good luck with the surgery Duke.. hope you're in and out and recovered quickly.

I've sent you the final specs on the caterham fiasco in a PM 👍

One thing I'd like to confirm with either you, or any of the other captains. I can't remember what thread it was in, but the AI difficulty level was discussed.. should it be left as specified, or made open. As far as I know, we run it on the difficulty level specified in the race Yeah??
There wasn't some open rulling that I've missed was there? Just want to double check.

AI difficulty was brought up by me in the AI tires thread. I think we decided to leave it as prescribed in the race submissions.

Good luck with that Duke. 👍

Tony-Infineon race or all of them?

Oh yeah, here's to all going well under the knife Duke.

Final consensus on "out of bounds". I think it's clear in the final rules, but I would appreciate one last review.

With all this new discussion of off-track areas where some are used to driving them and some aren't, I think hot lap scenarios should at least have some lenience in this, as they are required to be 100% clean. IMO some significant penalty, such as 5 seconds, should replace DQ in a scenario where no one touched a wall or drove with 3 wheels in grass/dirt, but was across a line. Either that or we need an entire thread devoted to pictures of these off areas for each track we're using.

Eggy thanks, knew I'd seen it somewhere. 👍

Jim.. Nah, I was just asking about all of them. I remember it being discussed and wasn't sure if I'd missed something. I gather we go with whatever the 3 AI races difficulty specify. Shall we guys??? ....Please say yes :p, Getting too old for all this last minute juggling

I'll have a day surgery too but on the 5th of september...so good luck to u too Duke ;)

ah I almost forgot it...
could u possibly change races'names into their real final combos...
i.e.:

Race 1.4.9: Arcade Rally / Arcade Rally Car --> Subaru Impreza Rally Car @ Cathedral Rocks I

Well, good luck to you too, Rico!

I wasn't planning to do that since they hadn't been determined and I'm hoping this can serve as a template for whoever runs BC6 next year (be it me or whoever). I fuigured that leaving the generic categories was more informative since we have the Final Selections post to refer to for order.

oh...it'd have been quicker for me to get what thread I need...by seeing car and track :D
let's think to BC5 now, the next ones will think to BC6 ;)

just save that template in some word files, and it'll be ready for next host, in case of need ;)

Yeah, I think Rico meant just change the thread titles. That would be swell. :)
