Hi there,

Thought i would share some pictures of the NSX i use on track. Its quite some car, but is a bit soft. There is Type-R/Showa suspension to go on as well as a 6-pot AP Racing kit. At the moment it has a custom exhaust and race pads.

Hope you like her! :)

The day she arrived. My Renault Clio in the background...i miss it!

Good pics. Do you go to Goodwood regularly? I was there last Saturday taking pics of cars racing around. I'd love to take pics of your car. :)

That's pretty nice. I've liked the NSX since the day I first saw it. And yours looks really nice - what year is it?

It's been pointed out that the S2000 can hold its own against the early 90s NSXs. Of course, not in style, but on the track at least (: Have you had any experience driving an S2000 on the track?

You should drop Mclaren F1GTR a PM, he is also an NSX owner. That must be intense to ensure but Im sure its all worth it when you get to take it out on the track and see what it can really do.

Edit: And if I were you I would blank out my plates before posting pictures of my car online.

Why?

More people see the car when he drives down the road every day. If someone were to want to clone it, they'd have to find a black Honda NSX to clone it to.

In the UK, registration plates are not personally-identifiable data. There is only one way to find out where someone lives from their registration plate, and it's unlikely someone on a US-based website would be able to do it or, more importantly, WANT to do it.

Assumptions can strike down the best and usually befowl the worst. Yeah, I assumed that it was similar to the US.

Those cars are sooooo nice to look at...... yours is no exception :)
I might see one or two a year here in michigan where i live.....

I could care less about posting my plates personaly......

And for good measure..

Yeah, I think there are certain things you should keep private, but license plates aren't necessarily one of those things. I would not give out my full name, address, phone number ... things like that. But license plate? Hell, thousands of people every day see that when I'm driving home from work.

Nice. Did you take part in the festival of speed?

Nice NSX. I have one myself, however, since I live in the US, I can't get a Honda model. Just an Acura.

I do take my car around TMS and TWS, and this Spring Break, I'd like to take it to the 'Ring, but wasn't possible.

Anyways, glad to see a fellow NSX owner here.
Great pics.

Moreover, since license plates are in the public domain, I could take a picture of your car, license plates included, and post it on the Internet and there's not a damn thing you could do.

Absolutely. But you try telling that to the chumps we snap over at Barryboys, who threaten legal action every 7 seconds...

Errr.... I guess the latter :dunce:

Please Famine, do correct my stupidity and belittle me!

*cracks knuckles*

You can place prefix registration marks on vehicles as long as the prefix on the plate is not newer than the prefix on the plate of the car when it was first registered.

Thus you can put 1985 B-reg plates on a 1999 S-reg car. But you cannot put a 1999 S-reg plate on a 1985 B-reg car. You cannot make a car seem newer than it is.

My dad has a 1992 J-plate which he's had on his last 5 cars - a 98R, a 2002 52, a 2002 02, a 98R and now a 2003 53.

I'm looking for an F-prefix for my 98R, but the ONLY prefix they've not released yet is... F. They're even releasing Q-prefixes which, until now, have only been allowed on kit/radically-altered cars and those whose first registration date is unknown.

Figures.

Hi Guys,

Thanks for the postive comments. It is a 1999 model. Ex-demonstrator, was up for big money but wiped a massive £10k off the for sale price because the dumb ass Honda dealer had forgotten to stamp the books as it had been sitting around for so long..

Going to the Ring later this year but not in the NSX, don't want to be bending aluminium!

Fair comment on revealing plates, do it all the time, as someone else said, anyone could clone it if they wanted..not that there are any NSXs in the UK,lol. There have been a few people who have thought it was B-reg...bless 'em

Sweet wheels on yours Maclaren! Got a Comptech charger on her then?

I thought Q was only for imported vehicles whose true year is unable to be confirmed (up until the series' current release). Are they releasing these prefixes now because they obviously screwed up on the AA00 AAA format, which is impossible to be personalized well? I bet those "newreg"-type companies are pretty pissed. Doesn't everyone agree they should have gone to the Irish system, which lists the model year first and can have any possible combination after it?

" 2. What is a 'Q' registration number?

These are a very useful consumer protection aid.

A 'Q' number is a clear indicator to a prospective purchaser that the age or identity of a vehicle is unknown. The vehicle may be rebuilt from parts, some or all of which may not be new. This also applies to vehicles imported without supporting evidence to identify the vehicles age."

The new system has plenty of possibilites. I quite like the 2001 plate "FU51LLI", bought by a chef. And of course later this year we have the 55 plates. I'm SO buying "PI55ANT".

very nice car. Ive been eying the NSX for a good decade now. That or an M coupe will probably be my next car, with a nudge to the NSX for its MR platform. those calipers will be sick.

You know the guy with the silver E30 M3 in that last pic? Ive one just like it. What modification did it have?

what suspension do NSX guys typically go for when they need adjustable shocks?

what will you likely take to the ring?

I don't remember that M3 much, think i just saw strut braces and it had some sticky tyres. Funnily enough i have been looking at E30s over the last week, slightly scared that they're in the top insurance group despite 'only' having 220bhp. I would love one though.

A lot of people get Tein, but the Type R is better quality (i got it recommended by Science of Speed who are the top NSX tuners in the states). Problem is the Type R is not adjustable.

I love the M Coupe too, old school thrills..i know a dude who has one with just about every AC Schnitzer part you can get! They're cool, and original, but ultimately just not quite as good as an NSX. I would say that though..!

Oh, forgot, i have a friend of a friend who owns a school at the 'Ring. He uses a variety of Alfa Romeos..RWD..almost 200bhp. Should be fun without risk of death. Thats the plan anyway :)
