SIGNUPS are now permanent, once you sign up you are good to go for the rest of the 8 week season.

- At the end of the race just write down your finishing position compared to the other GTP members. If you finish up front use the extra time to write down the finishing position of the others to ensure everything is recorded in case they don't see the results.

Thanks, Earth!

Tried some laps w/o tune. Combo looks great; we will have some great on-track fights I'm pretty sure.

Fuji again! 👎 Haha. Well at least, Fuji is in my opinion the best track for good clean fights. Good passing opportunities, different lines possible, asphalt if you go wide so you don't loose your entire race...
Game on.

I have to say I think Tuesday is the perfect night, I don't usually have anything planned on tuesdays :) Can't wait for the race.

I thought I'd check in and see if anyone has been doing some tuning and hot lapping? This car seems quite difficult to get to rotate on S3s (lot's of puush :) ). So, my best so far is only a 1'49.820. Anyone else got a time??

My favorite car. =)

Fast track. =)

Awesome =D

EDIT: Heli, I'll post some times up in a bit.

EDIT: I ran a 1'49.393 with my tune. *which isn't that good*

Hmmmm... a 1'49.393 on a "isn't that good" tune, and probably on under-inflated tires as well, ... I've got some work to do. ...geez, but then, Hammy's just plain fast... Thanks, man. 👍

lol, thanks. haha.

This combo really magnifies the "slow in, fast out" technique. Can't go fast at all through the beginning of a corner. :nervous:

I've managed some 1:49.5's with a so-so tune... looking good but quite an unstable car we've got.

I managed a 1'48"9 but it was one of those laps where everything goes right and you can't ever do it again.
Most of my lap times are around the 1'50 range, towards the end after a few more tweaks to the suspension I was regularly under 1'50 a lap.

This is a tricky car, it's quick but I find it hard to know where the limit is. Sometimes the understeer is just horrible (for me that's especially the case in the 2 corners before the last one), but it should be fun to race with. :)

I tried adding some aero in the back for more overall grip, especially turns 2 and 3, but I felt like it just made the understeer so much worse everywhere that i went back to 600PP with minimum weight and minimum aero. 👍

I'm going to go practice for this. Anyone want to join?

:30

EDIT: Down to 1'49.0's consistently. :O

Down to 1'48.8xx

If the season were to end today, the 12 drivers receiving automatic entries for next season's Orange R Cup would be

1. EL_ZISSOU
2. GTP_L_Hamilton
3. GTP_CarlPKY
4. GTP_CudaDude
5. GTP_timeattack
6. GTP_KumaBar
7. bluearth
8. GTP_CANES51
9. GTP_CWR
10. GTP_mkay
11. snakegt40
12. Major Milou

On the bubble (would receive automatic entry for Clubman Cup)

13. GTP_LinPark
14. GTP_Twistybits
15. GTP_GODZILLA
16. GTP_Lyvan
17. GTP_Drama-Kyd

According to Points Standings

I've been working hard on my setup and practicing as well.

So far my best is a 49.2 with consistent 49 4s. Here is the video. If you press play on both of them at the same time they will be synchronized.

The carousel is an interesting corner, I'm experimenting with reducing wheel input and speed. The car seems to be just as fast as me cranking the wheel, but its able to hold a tighter line. Also notice how many blind corners there are at the end of the track. I'm not sure if this is a good place for overtaking.

Man, that's cool Earth. I would just work on the gears a bit. Coming out of the first turn, the gears are a bit slow.

Are there going to be camera men in the Orange R race?

And anyone down to practice now?

Did PD start altering the torque of the engine when you change the power beginning with Spec III or have they always done it? One thing that was so shocking to me after being away for so long was how crucial gearing is. Normally I would expect good gearing to only give .5 a lap but with some cars it can mean 2 seconds a lap.

Probably no camera men this race, but I will make allowances for it next round.

I am up for practice, at the bottom of the hour, 1:30 est. I need some time to get everything together.

I think so. I'm not totally sure.

See you then.

Sorry. Missed that one. In at :55

I finally got around to doing some testing with this car :) After about 10 laps my best lap time is a 1'47.973 👍 I think I have my tune and gearing sorted pretty well, although the gearing is a bit awkward as I approach the last corner. I end up hitting the rev limiter in 3rd and having to shift to 4th for only a brief second. Fortunately it doesn't cost much time, but like I said it is a bit awkward. I don't want to make 3rd longer though, as that will just end up sacraficing too much at all of the other corners where 3rd is used to exit. See ya guys tommorow 👍

In @ :55 for a quick one. Need to test the gearing in race conditions.

Edit: Is it just me, or does this thing understeer like a pig in a race vs. free run? The thing feels like a dump truck through the last sector, just endlessly waiting for the thing to grab traction and clip the apex

Sorry guys. I was horrible. That kind of showing, I deserve to be the only one in Sports Car category..

Just did 1'47.889 with revised spring rates and an ok lap in free run. There still a couple of tenths left on the table though 👍

Edit: New PB in race (free air/ OLR clean) 1'47.670. The new spring rates I'm using feel superb in race conditions 👍

*sigh*

So much for my "fast" times. Not much points for me tomorrow. :indiff:

God I've been having wonderful luck the past few days  PS3 freezes just when I get my tune dialed in perfectly...just wonderful :ouch: It seems like everything is working against me these days :nervous:

You can win without a tune. I guarantee..

No way :dopey: Zissou will definitely put up a good fight if he shows up, regardless of what tune I'm using. Luckily, I remembered every detail of my tune, so I should be good to go for tomorrow 👍

dang it

I got some work to do with the gears, as you can see in this video hamilton ate me alive coming out of dunlop and it cost me the lead on the final lap as you will see in this video

If TA can get 47s i got alot of work to do on my tune, starting with gears of course. I was following TA through the carousel, and he was able to get back on the throttle so much earlier, so much more grip. couldnt follow him close enough in the technical section to see what he was like there.

looking forward to meeting you sir! i havent even turned a wheel until today, and now i just had a chance to put in 10 laps with the stock tune, and need to move on to some other obligations. i hope i at least have time to test a tune from one of the garages before we race tomorrow. this is going to be a great combo, i think!

You to Zissou 👍

I would be more than willing to share my tune but I dearly need to grab all the points I can get tommorow, especially from you  Having already missed two races, I seriously need to get a move on :)

i think we are gonna be close man. i tried a couple of garages' tunes and am in the mid 148s with the controller, so hopefully i can get closer to your pace when i rig up the wheel tomorrow night 👍
