Ive managed to create 2 hybrids so far,

an FD RX7 with a 3 rotor from the RX7 LM and 'original' street RX7 turbo and intercooler etc 1185hp + 100 shot (supposed to be 20B swap but I was shocked at the horses)

a BMW M3 CSL with F6 Typhoon engine and Supra 97 Original turbo - 806hp + 70 shot

but Ive gotten stuck on my next project

LS1 RX7 with Corvette C5/Camaro SS/GTO(best) motor no matter what I do theres always the nagging faint sound of a turbo and with certain turbos it impacts the powerband dramatically. Ive been tweaking around to make the powerband match the real 5.7 but theres always a turbo sound there with the RX7 is there a way I can change the car so the turbo is completely removed, there is a PAL code to "remove turbo" but what is the equivalent in the NTSC version?

(PAL)
Removing turbo
Phaste Code
20A2A680 FFFFFFFF
20A2A684 FFFFFFFF

ARMAX Code
2M34-HFJC-UDHDG
21BZ-PDVP-EEP7B
29W6-3V52-03ZQC

Ive tried two different ways of using this specific code by using MAX convert to convert the ARMAX to AR2v1 (for Swap Magic Coder) which gives me

1C369628 61DFB00C
1C36962C 61DFB00C

and also I tried copying the Phaste code as both XPv1-2 and RAW, RAW gives me this:

1C3529A8 61DFB00C
1C3529AC 61DFB00C

(very similar and closer to AR2v1 codes)
but the turbo remains... my only band-aid solution so far was to put in the turbo code for a turbo with a wider powerband such as a Mitsubishi Eclipse.
With full bolt ons and racing exhaust it does sound like a V8, but there has to be a way for me to get the V8 in its purest natural aspirated form (dual exhaust sound for example). With full bolt ons and the stock RX7 or Eclipse turbos gives me around 500hp +100 shot

Ive been thinking there might be other ways to get the right modsn (NA TUNE) by changing the car codes, but those too, are unable to be found for NTSC... so Im kinda stuck here...

if I change "chassis" to the RE Amemiya RX7 (no turbo allowed) does it follow that or the car body? or is it the same thing? Im just a noob here starting out but Im hoping to get some savegames up real soon, just gonna throw together the LS1 RX7 and do the old copy and paste and delete the rest of the cars that havnt been hybridded yet.

Remember Im doing this oldschool style and Ive just been set back at the beginning (today ?yesterday? ) because I had to duplicate my legit copy of GT4 to get it to work with the Swap Magic (SM is Single Layer)

Im hoping to release the codes file from my Swap Magic when Im done, pre-programmed with different engine and drivetrain codes. Just highlight master, what engine you want, turbo, etc and then boot disc, save game, shut down, replace with legal copy, begin normal tune shop modifying procedure (suspension, LSD, ASM, etc) I dont have a bug where my savegame returns to normal because Im not emulating it... seems to work almost too easy :) Im looking to make an H22 (prelude Vtec) EG Civic Turbo, Shelby GT350 289 into FC RX7, 05 Mustang GT with Cobra R 5.4 and AC Cobra Supercharger (easily 700hp) I cant wait :) BACK TO WORK! :)

I'm not really sure what are you doing there but try these

Remove turbo, in raw format (fixed)
20A1F880 0000091D
20A1F884 0000000E

(region USA, game id 0757)

You should search for my memory locations excel file, it should help you at least little to convert the codes between pal/ntsc version :)

Found it, it's slightly outdated but nothing major

Body codes only give you the looks of a car, it's the chassis code you want.
Also if you need to modify front and rear track, you need the "Race mod" code as well

OK I havnt tried that code yet Im on my way now to try it but I was kinda thinking I probably need the NTSC CARID (manufacturer) list I want to be able for the body to be an RX7 street but tune it with NA tune at Pontiac/Chevrolet or even name it the Amemiya as its NA tune only as well... I want a pure NA engine in an RX7 body

for now Ive made it a turbo Corvette engine LS1 but the Pontiac 5.7 has a much nicer powerband.

ok so heres the hybrids Ive made so far (CAR + ENGINE + CHASSIS + TURBO)
93 Civic + K24 Integra Touring + STOCK + BuickGSX = 638hp+100NOS
65 Shelby GT350 + 427 Cobra + STOCK + NATUNE3 = 793hp +50NOS
03 BMW M3 CSL + F6 Typhoon + STOCK + Supra Stage 5 Turbo = 806hp +70NOS
96 RX7 + Corvette Z06 5.7 + AMEMIYA + Stage 5 RX7 = 925hp +100NOS
05 Mustang GT + Ford GT + FALCON XR8 + SALEEN S7 S/C = 1174hp + 50NOS
91 RX7 + RX7 LM Race Car + STOCK + RX7 Stage 5 = 1185hp + 100NOS

I have the most fun in the LS1(5.7) RX7 but Im most proud of the 05 Mustang (SHELBY COBRA GT500) as it has very close looking rims and its lightweight chassis of the XR8

gamesave coming soon... I want to have a nice selection before I release it... (10 or so) I have some more planned in the future... and if anyone has any suggestions Id like to try to make it for you (but if it crashes I cant do nothing for ya)

Bulitt

PS someone who uses Windows Live/MSN could ya PM me your addy Id like to have someone who knows what their talkin about, realtime so I can get even more cars coded :)

oh and from now on Im going to try "complete" hybrids... adding every single code right from the start (from chassis to rims) aka:

oh and another thing I forgot to mention was that the PHASTE codes from the GT4 Hybrid Swapper NTSC .txt's work perfectly for Swap Magic Coder.. you just gotta add the extra 4 0's before the last 4 #'s if that helps you guys with the NTSC *CARID* and *CARBODY* codes...

Well just try to study my excel sheet, understanding it will vastly expand your knowledge :)
Try comparing the codes you've got and my spread sheets, you'll notice that they've both got similar number strings.

For example, engine codes have address 20A1F808.

First, find the abbreviation for engine from the list on the right. (ENG)
Then look at the table on the left.
It's on the fourth line (in green section), second column, which says 00A1F80 on the left.
Note the same string of numbers? The reason why the last number is omitted is because it's written on the topmost line of the table, 0 2 4 6 8 A C E.

That's how you'll find the correct address values for NTSC version :)

The first two numbers are just the code type, 20 = four byte, 10 = two byte and 00 = one byte. It's safe to use type 20 with car part codes, but suspension setting etc codes usually need type 00.

You don't need to use the second code line with Car Body codes, because the second value is already in the game's memory! (because each car has a body :D)

Codes that need two lines are:
Weight reduction, port&polish, engine balance, displacement, chip, NA tune, flywheel,
driveshaft, exhaust, intercooler, rims, nitrous, wing and supercharger.

This is the list of PAL cars that don't exist in NTSC version or have different Car ID, Body and part codes

SpeedDrifter, I tried your remove turbo codes but they didnt allow me to put the GTO 5.7 into the RX7 and be playable without a CRAZY GLITCH

when I use the first or both codes, and put in the 5.7 I get 3800+hp and when I do port and polish it says 13000+... if I use just the last code, it does nothing and still locks when I go to play

Im pretty sure I need the CARID now to match a non-turbo car (eg. RE Amemiya) and it will work... with the crazy 4000hp glitch, the turbo was surging from 0 to like 3 lbs but the exhaust note was pure V8 :) too bad it had unrealistic horsepower

Oh my god, sorry, I got the turbo remover code all wrong :nervous:
it should be:
20A1F880 0000091D
20A1F884 0000000E

019D is an invalid value, no car uses it

it would be cool if you could get me an NTSC list like this:
http://gt.cellphonespec.com/gt4hybridcarid.php

Im not exactly catching on with this database but let me know if Im right...

so the PAL code for CARID of Pontiac GTO 5.7is

20A2A5D0 00000244

so from what you say I should put the CARID code as:

20A17AC8 00000244

Im going to go try it now

-----------------
Bulitt

No no, that ID is just the garage data ID.
You need to look at the green section, it's where the car setups are in :P
The correct code should be 20A1F7D0 00000244

Sorry about misleading you again when I was talking about omitted numbers.. I was just looking at wrong spreadsheet..
Just change the last 0 to 8 when needed.
I'm pretty tired so my storytelling is all messed up

well I threw in the new turbo remover and it worked like a charm but I still didnt get my carid code to work.. Im going to try yours and see what happens... id like to put the exhaust from the GTO as you can still hear that RX7 sound :)

Good thinking! I've been trying to find a way to hybrid the exhaust note from another car but haven't pulled it off yet.
But when we change the Car ID and the exhaust from the same car, exactly that will happen. :)

ah just tried the CARID code and it let me buy parts at the pontiac shop but it was less hp and still sounded the same and another bad thing happened, it overwrote my Mustang, not a big deal I can just remake it but I know I wont be dickin with the CARID anytime soon... remove turbo works just fine :)

oh and the hybrid swapper program doesnt work for me... is there something I should install like VB6 or something? "Failed to initialize properly"

It didn't say in the thread? Weird.. I recall it needs Microsot NET 2.0 to work.

Are you saying the whole car got replaced? :dunce:
Really interesting, I think I'll do some tests myself right now.
It's possible the game checks the ID of your car when you enter a race for example, and if it's changed from last time, it changes all parts to the deafult ones of the car with that ID.. or something, I'll try it out

alright... Im gonna keep playing all night with different combos (and with CARID)

seems like you can put NA engine into Turbo car with remove turbo code
you can put turbo engines into NA cars, as long as you add a turbo code however the boost gauge will not show
no matter what you do you cant put a turbo on an engine that doesnt support it even if you change the CARID to one that supports turbo(it should be if the engine supports supercharger it can support turbo) boourns to that.

I just thought Id post this cuz Im bored and looking for V8 engines that I can turbo, and since Im a big ford fan heres a list of most of the ford V8's in GT4

back to testing :)

one last question... is there a way to change the rev limiter and keep the same engine? I got a 5.0L HO powered RX7 but it revs to 8K... Id like to set it at 6K for that "realistic" feel
