Good idea or no? I have about 45 mins in the endurance already, so it's not too late to start over if I'm asking for a bigger headache during nightfall...

Is there a preferred semi-"idiot-proof" car to run this race with? Just something I can control easily and click off consistent laps with even in my sleep? The X2010 was too twitchy, and the 908 just didn't feel right in my hands...

Don't do it. Night is undrivable. I suggest finding a tune for the 908 or maybe the Toyota Minolta you get will be fine.

It won't be fun because it doesn't have headlights.

Well...No,it's not a good idea seeing as the FGT has no headlights...

^ beaten to the punch...

Its not too late at all. With no headlights in the nightfall nightmare really aint the word for the pain in the ass it will be ;)

The AI will be on your tail and make no mistake, they want to win! LOL. I used the 905, and I was happy with it. The Minolta is balls out fast, so you need a good downforce combo. That should do the trick. FGT, no as above. Have fun!

You might be okay with the driving line on, but it WILL be boring

No. Do not do 24h of Nurburgring with the FGT, solely because it's lacking headlights. If you were doing the 4 hour one, then you'd be fine. But FGT doesn't work in 24 hours races...unless you're doing it in B-Spec, then you'll be fine. This also applies to the Toyota 7 Race Car and the Chaparral 2J, but then again, why would you put those aforementioned cars up against LMPs?

One thing for sure is that I'll never be able to complete the A-Spec 24-hour Endurance Races. Heck, even in real life, the same driver does not drive the entire 24 hours.

Sure, I can suspend the race and tie up my GT5 game for as many days as it actually takes to complete it, but I just can't see myself driving for 24 hours on one track.

Good thing that the B-spec Endurances count towards the "All Golds" trophy and I won't have to ever complete the A-spec ones. 👍

ok...I'd started the race last night with a few 908 HDI FAP tunes I found with a forum search, and the car was an understeering, unhappy mess...After 4-5 messed up starts, I tried the FGT...

And maybe the Minolta is worth a shot, too...I'll give it a try tonight...

Yeah, this has been one of my many issues with the game from the start...After PD released the update to allow saves, I was sort of hoping there would be a future update to "share" the race driving with the B-spec driver like in GT4 (with fast-forward, which is how it's supposed to be)...I'd rather run a 2-hour race that engages me completely and forces me to cut consistent quick times while managing my fuel/tire/pit strategies instead of 18 hours of half-asleep, sloppy laps and then parking the car for 6 hours...

At least there is time progression this time around...GT4's enduros with the sun/shadows in the same place for hours was like the twilight zone

I forgot about the tire wear update...I was lucky enough to finish the Le Mans 24 hours with the X2010 just before the update (I loved running out of gas with only 1/3 of my racing softs used up)...And last night I couldn't figure why my mediums couldn't last two laps at the 'ring

In light of tire wear being a much bigger issue now, are there any more suggestions? Is there any instance where it's better to use a car on stock settings? (Since every tune I tried for the 908 took me off track?)

The C9 Sauber Mercedes kicks butt, too.

I actually prefer it over the Minolta. 👍

The X2010 was too twitchy, and the 908 just didn't feel right in my hands...

I left the TC on the 908 and ran the new x car on nothing grippier than RH to reduce twitchness....although TBH I preferred driving the x car on wets in the rain(had all assists on fot that:yuck:)

Do it to give us all a laugh.

I has tried several cars before engage in the race, my actual favorite is X2010 detuned for better handling.

If you have the 1st DLC, a fully tuned GTR TC is PERFECT! 850+HP, 4WD... etc. I just did it with this car.
