Nurburgring 24hr race

Hi everybody, I have just registered and already I have a question. Can I set the game off in B-Spec mode on the ring 24hr race and trust it to pit in for tires, refuelling etc, as I dont have the time avaliable to drive myself. I dont think I can but i just want to make sure. Any advice is much appreciated.

Yes, you can! Ït will pit by itself and refuel itself, nothing to worry about that. If you want to run it in 3x mode you'll have to switch it to 3x after every pit stop, but if you're going to leave it running for 24 hours there will be no problems.

You can, but it can be risky: it can decide to pit in for tyres at the beginning of the lap, so that by the end it's on bright red tyres and all over the road:( Plenty tyre testing worthwhile (although, providing you have a choice available, you can do this in the early part of the race, and change them around in the early pitstops).

You want to get your B-spec Bob up to at least 50 pts for each category before you start, too. (Check stats for this)
 
UPDATE: Race started at 19:26. Its already decided to pit so its put my mind at rest for the night. Oh yeah, Im being crazy and doing it in an R34 Skyline N1. Wish me luck.

Dont worry it left the race cars like they werent there, by the end of the first lap I was already the whole straights lenght ahead, 800bhp and good tuning really helps.

As I'm often reading that people don't find the time to finish their 24h races, I'm still thinking that I'm a bit lucky to have a friend who is in GT4 well enough to be my second driver - it's kind of a privilege, i think ....

anyway, how are things going so far?
 
After every pit in im slowly pulling away from the other cars, after 1hr 15mins Ive lapped a Spoon S2000 LM race car and the M3 GTR is over the straights length behind, I think by the morning Itll have done 90+ laps. I can't wait. :)

Racing the M3 was a nice thing to do in the first attemp at the 24h Nür race i did with a friend. He choose the JGTC GT300 Cusco Subaru and we only managed to lap him 5 times - over the night, he kept his 3 laps down for six to eight hours, which was an interesting thing to see... it really felt like "racing" since we didn't progress until the late morning hours when we did attack again.

But if you have the M3 one lap down, you might get this one home, good luck to you!
 
Bob screwed it up missing the pit entrance twice, doing 2 laps on dead tyres. But I started again at 21:15 roughly with hard tyres and they last almost exactly 2 laps at increased pace. Hopefully itll work this time.

:indiff: Might be a result of having an 800bhp road car - Bob struggles sometimes with very high powered cars...

But then, so do I...:)
 
UPDATE: Morning, its 7:30 and bob's on lap 85 and I think he's lapped every other car at least twice. When I was coming out of the pits the audi tt race car that was second was on "karusell" (the banked concrete corner- I only know the names because I went there with my dad last year in a VW Bora V5, or a Jetta to some of you. 12:12 was our best time, but we recently found out the car was broken so it was under performing) anyway, back to the race, second is the the opposite side of the track so its looking good.

UPDATE- Lap 133, 15hrs 56mins in, still 1st, by a LONG LONG way. I am roughly 4 laps ahead now. My strategy of racing hards and increased pace has worked a treat so far.

I think he bodywork has warped. I thought "right, Ill do some laps as Im nearing the end", that cars never been so hard to drive. I said "Oh dear somethings wrong with my new skyline ;):D". Then I flicked through a few posts and found one about the body warping on the ring 24hr run, thats 50k gone before ive finished on the body refresher plan.

You were lucky, that's a nice colour. I got the green and yellow crappy one :grumpy: :yuck: . But I will do it again on my new save so... :D I might get a decent colour.

Doin my right now as we speak. Lap 140 and have the field 2 laps down. I ran the whole race in level 2 and had to pit ever 4 laps. But b spec is ur friend. Nice car bro

You're right about the body being, er, broken. Word is it gets bad around 2000miles, and with the full on race cars at Le Mans it makes them a right handful for half the race!:crazy:

BTW the mods will not like your sig: way too big. I notice one of them has already asked you to cut it down in some small thread you added to somewhere, so don't ignore them. They do it to keep bandwidth down to a minimum, and once one person starts, everyone will be doing it.;)

man i envy you soooooooo much, i gotta get my ps2 back from my bro in law and get me and my brother doing shifts on b-spec, sort of surveying
 
when i did the nurburgring i used the pescoralo '' the white one'' i forget now lol i put super hard tyers on it managed to do 3 laps on incresed pace and also i ren out of fuel cos b-spec bill missed the pit enterence what a dumb ass
