Warm up week - Triumph Spitfire 1500 74'

Well done to all, some good solid times were posted and taking the win is Veilsidebr with a sensational time 👍 Taking second with an equally impressive run is Zoxxy and i was surprised to see myself on the podium taking the 3rd position :) Geetye you nearly had me there with the last time under 10 mins 👍

Competition around the 10 minute mark was quite close with RedlineFox Onlyme and lotus350 all within a second of each other 👍 Kolyana just pips Small_Fryz for 8th place, Bigrew Speedy_Samurai and Goixoye round off the submissions for this week with very respectable times also 👍

1st Veilsidebr 9:51.233
2nd Zoxxy 9:55.406
3rd Dave_George 9:58.295
4th Geetye 9:59.448
5th Redlinefox 10:00.604
6th Onlyme 10:00.911
7th lotus350 10:01.314
8th Kolyana 10:04.410
9th Small_Fryz 10:04.582
10th Big Rew 10:06.690
11th Speedy_Samurai 10:09.446
12th Goixoye 10:09.997

I would like to see replays for all times below 10mins if possible, mine will be attached to this thread, could somebody please check any NTSC replays as im PAL only and as such mine can be checked by PAL users only too 👍

Take note that had points been available they would still have been 5 points for 12th place and well worth having 👍

There were quite a few folk who voted and didnt race for one reason or another, im hoping they will turn up for week 1 and onwards :) and a couple who posted splits but no final time?

Any mistakes in this let me know ASAP so i can correct.

I think this week has been a success and I have begun my own learning curve already for sure 👍 I would encourage those who have the time to share/download replays before week 1 starts Sunday 17th 👍

Not much else to say apart from thanks again for the support and interest shown by all so far! Below is some info regarding the series, please take a quick look before you leave :)

regards

Dave

Additional Info

Series starts Sunday 16th at about 10PM GMT+1
(Voting Fri 14th approx 9pm GMT+1 until sunday 16th 9pm GMT+1)
Each week voting runs fri-sun and racing runs sun - sun

Series is going to be either 15 or 16 weeks long to be decided, and will include about 10 weeks of road cars where the power will rise along with any modifications week by week (the 9 weeks includes one week im terming "Extreme Road") and at least 5 weeks of dedicated race cars where all your knowledge of tuning will really come into play! There will be a break for Christmas *IF* people decide they want it. Thanks.

It was damned good fun ... good idea for a series and I'd like to thank you for running it, D.G. Here's to the start of the season proper 👍

Well I guess somebody had to be last :( . Great work folks, especially Veil, Zoxxy & Dave. Koly, good work 👍, looks like you crushed me here . Maybe I can work my way out of the cellar before the end of this series. I can only improve.

Goix, you and I seem to be similarly ranked according to ability, so I'm sure you and I are going to be fighting for position throughout this series 👍

I wasn't too far gone considering my amount of practice time. There is hope for me yet (in this series)

Congrats for all participants for getting some great times 👍 and a kudos for Veilsidebr and Zoxxy for turning up with incredible times :dopey:

Pretty happy with the time I set, though it would've been nice if I could've found that last second, and gotten under the 10min barrier

Great big thanx for Dave for creating this series. Had a blast driving the little spitfire around the ring (and almost completely ignored the WRS because of it :p). Can't wait for the car choices for week 1 :dopey:

Untill we get racing again, I changed the leaderboard into a resultboard ;)

Me too! Although I didn't even have a good time!

I also completely forgot the AMC! Sorry Nat! :guilty:

Great job guys, mighty fast times!! 👍

I saw the sub 10 mins for myself but would always mess things up from trying too hard :grumpy:

NOT A PROBLEM! You got the win this week, that's waaaaaaaaay more important :p

Regarding Christmas ... I don't need a break, per se, but I will not be competing in anything for a week or so; I'll be returning to England to visit family for about 10 days and will obviously not be taking my PS2 with me (nor will I have internet access).

Personally, I think a Christmas break would be handy, with all the holiday things and family obligations...

Or maybe we could extend the racing time of the races round Christmas and Newyear from 1 week to 2 weeks. That way even the very busy participants should be able to find some free time to run...

I like that idea Bart, will see what the general feeling is about this nearer the time.... 👍
