Nurburgring Race Series Week 2 - Results and feedback.

Hello all the results for week 2 are here!​

Despite a smaller turnout this week some good racing has been going on with again some great times coming in for the fun if slightly tricky MR2.

Week 2 - Toyota MR2 V edition​

Storming home in 1st comes Small_Fryz putting a big gap between himself and Dr Watson in 2nd. I rolled home myself in 3rd with an error strewn run which i couldnt better at the end of the week . Onlyme takes a solid 4th and Speedy_Samurai takes the 5th spot this week. Rubbing paint this week were Kolyana and Steve57 for 6th and 7th respectively, rounding off this week are goixoye and Somebody picking up a valuable 9 and 8 points respectively!👍

Well done to all for getting the MR2 round in 1 piece this week, below is the updated NRS leaderboard some movement happening already. Please post replays if you have them in this thread, i will be posting some feedback over the next couple of days on the various set ups used and what we may learn from this 👍

Congrats to all participants for some great times 👍

I had a lot of fun driving the MR2 and am pretty pleased with my result. I should savour it now, because I fear I will be losing ground as the cars get quicker

Anyway, my settings were those provided by Hugo and posted by Dion:

I thought they were perfect for this car. Made it very stable and well balanced. Only when pushing it really hard, it would step out of line. Thnx for the setting, Hugo 👍

I had lots of fun on this car driving about 400km 👍, Still a few more seconds left but I am still very happy with my time 👍.

Dave...I submitted a time...you may have overlooked it because the time was only noted in the "title"...unless I missed the deadline? I checked the message...it was sent 1:12pm eastern US time. It was nothing really to crow about but never-the-less I did take a couple of laps, literally, and submitted a time so wouldn't get that DNR.

Congrats to all of the finishers this week! Unfortunately my G/F got sick and I had to take her to the hospital and got stuck there longer then I had anticipated, so by the time I got back home, the deadline for submitting my time was over & done! :-(

Oh well! There's always week 3! Hehehehe!

No sweat...looks like I'm where I belong...behind Koly the tigershark...I'm sure that margin will continue to grow...especially if we let her drive cars she actually likes.

Thought i would write a few lines of feedback based on what i saw from all the setups this week.

Its been quite hard to analyse as only 8 people submitted and not all of you gave detailed setup info but from what i do have we can see something at least.

The MR2 with sports suspension was the opposite of the previous weeks MX-5, this car suffered understeer on default settings, being a MR layout with a weight distribution of about 40% front and 60% rear the car was well balanced but needed that understeer dialled out to be able to push hard.

Almost everyone made sure that they had made the rear slightly higher than the front to start with, and then made the rear stiffer, this seemed to get the back end moving about a bit and seemed to balance the car well.

I personally used 117/121 and 5/7 dampers which again felt neutral to me, some of you again went for more extreme settings which seemed to work as long as they were along the same method of rear higher and stiffer than the front.

Camber was a difficult one to work out, 1st place used 2.5/1.8 as did 4th place, 2 used 1.4/0 and 3rd place used 1.7/0.3, difficult to say as strong or weak camber seemed to work for all, i would be interested to try Small_Fryz settings with less camber to see what happens....

To recap then :

Week 1 - MX-5 could be prone to oversteering, we found that keeping neutral settings for ride and damping and adjusting camber stronger at front made the car nice and neutral, dropping the rear ride height and stiffening the front dampers dialled out the oversteer nicely for most.

Week 2 - MR2 was prone to understeer and it seems obvious that to balance this cars handling we needed to raise and stiffen the rear of the car. Camber was down to personal preference but less seemed to be the better setting for most.

Onto the week 3 car the 190E seems quite competitive out of the box but maybe we will get some interesting settings coming through. Feel free to add to this as usual 👍
