Hello to all!

The results for Week 4 of the NRS are in!

Week 4 - Honda NSX-R

i0022mq.jpg

Taking the win this week with a storming time is Dr Watson putting a good gap between myself in 2nd...Geeteye takes 3rd place just edging Small_Fryz out of the podiums for this week in 4th. Onlyme takes a solid 5th place and Speedy_Samurai picks up 6th, Bigrew just edges Kolyana for 7th and 8th. Redoak takes 9th with a run im sure was much improved on from the start of the week, and Goixoye finishes off the submissions for this week in 10th place. Well done to everyone who managed to tame this NSX-R and submit a clean lap as i know how frustrating it could be, well done indeed 👍

1st Dr Watson 7'16.979
2nd Dave_George 7'20.742
3rd Geeteye 7'21.203
4th Small_Fryz 7'22.549
5th Onlyme 7'25.703
6th Speedy_Samurai 7'28.154
7th Bigrew 7'30.912
8th Kolyana 7'31.780
9th RedOak 7'36.250
10th Goixoye 7'47.249

Once again im going to try and find some time to comment on your settings for last week so please leave any settings/replays in this thread for others to view and comment on, great racing everyone and onto week 5 and the last week of sports suspension. This week has got off to a slow start so far due to car problems but we are now driving the Skyline R34 M Spec NUR available from the Nissan dealer, with 4WD and over 400BHP this should take some carefull tuning to control on the Ring.

Good luck everyone, check out your places on the leaderboard 👍

cheers

Dave

BigRew you little bugger!!!

Congrats to the podium guys ... good runs and great competition!

Well Congrats to the winners. This was a good learning experience. Hopefully, i can manage some better times with that super Skyline :)

Hehe sorry Koly!

7'16 though! Amazing! 👍

sweet. good racing everyone. i'll put my replay up a bit later.. i have massive homework still + another final tomorrow. (so tired... so, so tired... after i get out of work wednesday i'm going to have to treat myself to some serious sleeping.)

i'm coming for you Fry-Guy. :trouble:👍

(oh, btw... my starts should be 4 i've submitted every week)

cheers

Ah, nice racing everyone.

Just like I said, I have been looking forward to seeing the results so that I could post my own time. :D

7'16.003

I can post the replay sometime very soon, just need to get the replay onto the PC first but rest assured that I am clean and have the replay. :sly:

Again though,
Great racing everyone. 👍

I had a bunch of fun with this combo. :D

Also, if I may suggest this...

Please feel free to post these times on the GTP leaderboard database.
We have a GT mode db that would be great for this sort of race. :sly:

Congrats to everyone on a good week  . I could maybe have seen a 7'19, but 7'16 is simply out of my league. 👍 👍

Will post my replay tomorrow with my settings.

On to week 5 we go. 👍

Laters 👍

Congrats to all the top finishers!

I would have spent more time on last weeks event but due to an unforseen turn of events at my job, a sh* load of OT (overtime) was required to bring in a new application and that took away from running week 4 to a degree that I would have been comfortable submitting a time with. However, now that last week is just a memory, this weeks event looks damn cool! 👍

I agree..this particular car is 'fitting' for this series! Can't wait to run a few laps tomorrow when I'm off work!

Slam Dead Last  👍 by 11s

But with only 4 laps I didn't expect any better. I'm learning to enjoy GT4 without being consumed by it.

If you expect nothing, you wont acheive anything either.

on that bombshell of yoda wisdom.

i'll submit my replay...
and settings:

I'm satisfied with my GT4 abilities and "achievements"...I wished I was better but I'm not. I don't want to put any more time into this "game" than I already do to become better. Somehow I think that in the grand scheme of things being a championship caliber GT4 driver only has but so much real value. If there is an omnipotent creator I don't think it will be all that impressed with my GT4 achievements and that I've spent so much of my time playing a game when there are more noble pursuits that are better uses of my time.

For me, it's important to remember that I own the game and not the other way around.

My replay for those with PAL 👍

P.s if its wrong one let me know....

Regarding the settings used for the Nsx-r im pleased to see that it was almost a clean sweep of everyone having a "similar" setting!

As the NSX tended to understeer a bit we applied the correct tuning of softening the front dampers to bring the rear end into play a bit and most of us had camber also set similar...somewhere in the region of 2.x/1.x. Ride heights varied but most of us kept the car level and low and if there was any variation it was by dropping the front by a small amount which should again reduce understeer a bit. 👍

So far then:

Week 1: The oversteering Mazda Mx-5 - Rear lower and softer

Week 2: Understeer biased MR2 - Front lower and softer (Not too much camber)

Week 3: Strange one. I would conclude that it was very neutral as some of us had a lower and softer front to counteract understeer - and some of us had the rear lower and softer to counteract oversteer. I think this car really highlighted each of our individual driving styles with no "one" type of setting showing up..

Week 4: Understeer biased NSX-R - Level ride height and softer front than rear made the car neutral.

Camber in all weeks has been down to personal taste but remember too much loses you grip, the ratio of 2:1 front/rear seems to work for most cars though buts its worth experimenting with 👍

I think so far i have already learned some basics for tuning out understeer/oversteer and after this week should be ready to make the step up to semi race suspension. I would be interested to know peoples thoughts and comments, do you agree/disagree??

thanks for listening :)

cheers

Dave

Dave

what kent did.

run the series but not actually submit.

goixoye
What's a "ghoster"?

I think that this was meant for Kent, who did race but did not submit a time.

EDIT: Lol, Small, you're too quick for me :p
