Nurburgring?

For some reason, no matter what car I use, I cannot beat the Nurburgring on A-Spec Professional GT Championship. I am further up in the tier, and have access to extreme races, but I cannot beat the 'Ring. I have a tuned Zonda R, A GTR 07, a Ferrari 458, a Mazda Furai, and a RM Corvette ZR1. I am open to buying/tuning any cars, as I have a good amount of money.

So every time I try a race at the ring, I always end up in the grass spinning out. It doesn't matter whether I'm going 40 or 400 miles an hour, it's always the same. My B-Spec Driver can do it no problem with any of my cars.

I don't know if it's a car I don't have, a performance part I need, a tuning tweak I need to make, or a setting I have not configured right. If someone could help me with this it would be greatly appreciated.

PS: If it helps, I don't have a wheel, but I have a Logitech G27 on order that will ship when they get it in stock.

1. I had these problems too. Do you have racing tires? I was amazed at the difference they made
2. This race always was harder for me. I did it with a Lamborghini Mur Superveloce with full upgrades (assuming I have the right race in mind...) Highly recommend racing soft tires, even if they are expensive

P.S. The other race you may be thinking of I had to wait till I had an FGT...............wouldnt recommend investing in the lambo then.......
 
Slap on Racing Soft tires.

I just ran the race with my ZR1 LM '09. Lapped it in 6:39.821 (crashed at the end).
I had passed all the cars 45 seconds into the lap and won by 14.837 seconds.

I assume this is the LV14 GT World Championship.

You need to lap the Ring in around 7:20s +-15 secs , depends on the Cars you are against.

For example:

If the Chapparal 2J is in the Lineup you need 7:00 - 7:05 times.

Racing Softs can make every bit of difference. I mean the grip you get from them are crucial!

And you don't need a wheel. Learning the lines (with driving line on helps), turn off your aids, and put on Racing Softs can help a lot. I don't own a wheel, just using my DS3 and I owned all the A-Spec races and I never raced a car that had more than MAYBE 50 hp than the rest of the cars. So I was pretty much forced to be good at driving and not relying on overpowered cars to do the job.
 
Yeah, racing tires help; they're usually one of the first mods I make to my car... I believe I won with a hopped up sls amg

My BF came in 1st, in the championship, in that race, using a tuned up Falken, on racing tires soft or medium I think?
From what I've read that's an underdog car choice. But I think nurburg was his easiest race in that championship.

I've tried it w/ the 4wd lambourgini & the furai, (both with only suspension & LSD upgrade and racing tires) and can't get better than wiping out right at the end of the lap. LOL (But up until then I'm always in 2nd (or at least 3rd) - till I wipe out at the end of the straight)

My bf has finished the AMG special events. I'm halfway through them.
If you haven't done those yet, I recommend it.
(I also used to play gt4 and am well familiar with nurburg track.)

Note: We use a ds3 controller & sit on the sofa. :o)
 
Found the problem. I had Skid Recovery Force turned off in the settings menu. Turned it back on and easily won.
 
Now, however, I have a new problem. Although I have obtained gold on every race, the series does not have a gold trophy by it in the Pro menu, and I have not received the Bugatti Veyron. Do I need to run the tournament to get this?

Yep, if it's a championship, you don't get the trophy (or car) unless you do them all as a series.
But if you did each as gold it individually, it shouldn't be hard to come out gold in points.

Wow what a waste of a post. Dang troll.


Just stick with making your tranny limited as possible. I don't even put my FGT beyond 220 mph because I won't reach it unless I reach the long straight. But I'll want the acceleration during all the turns prior to the straight.

Ok lol i gotta admit i completely missed that........ And yes you do have to run the championship if a boxamajigger has a campionship you have to run it to get the prize.
P.S. gonna fix my Sig right after this...
 
I had a lot of trouble with the Ring, and admitted in the end it was because I wasn't a very good virtual driver. It really takes a lot of skill and super quick reflexes. Taking a fast car around it was a nightmare for me.

I practiced using slower cars that handled and braked well.... getting around without spinning off is a real thrill, even if it takes 10 minutes!!

I'm gradually working up, and was chuffed to bits the first time I got it nailed in less than 8!!

As someone said earlier... practice (although I see you golded it first time with skid recovery.... so you can't be that bad!!)

how did you get to 400 mph? downforce/aids are always the answer
 
My advice to anyone struggling on Nurburgring is the AMD Special events if only to learn the track. Do these special events and learn each segment of the track until you know it off by heart. You may even enjoy them and wish to Gold them.
It will also greatly assist you for the GT-R challenge. I hated the track but i am so grateful to the AMD Special events that now i drive it with confindence i am still no master of it but atleast i know what is coming up and what to expect. It makes a huge difference.

This was my method too. In gt4, I started by doing nurburg in "family cups" with my antique citroen (upgraded). Then I just kept taking incrementally faster & faster cars. Now I can do it with a race car in gt5, though not as well yet. But the idea is that I know what's coming up all the time, because I know the road, nothing surprises me so my reflexes don't have to be lightning quick, because I'm prepared in advance for everything.

I think it's actually one of the better tracks to learn... just because it's not at all boring, it's fun! Like there's no way I'd think of doing some tracks for the same amount of time because they aren't as... varied.
 
Use racing softs until you get better.
Use driving line and brake even when you don't have to at some corners, atleast if you think you need to brake
 
I don't know what to tell you. I beat this race with a fully tuned GT-R SpecV and I was light-years ahead of the competition even though my driving sucked at the time and I went off the road a few times.
