Nurnburing b-spec pitting

If I leave my driver on b-spec in the 24hr nurburing race, is there a way to get him used to pitting at the right laps while I am away? I have heard that he wants to run another lap after his tires are torn. I want to try the formula gt gran turismo race, but I want to do it with the polyphony digital f1.

You can call him into the pits with the circle button. Other than that there's no way to get him to pit other than when he thinks its time (which, on the 'Ring, seems to invariably be right after the pit entrance, meaning he does a complete lap on worn out tires).

Sheesh, it's been so long since I've used B-Spec I had to fire the game up and try it!
 
So if I use a car like the motul pitwork or the mazda 7B7, do you think that I will win while sleeping and letting my driver pit himself?

More than Likely especially with the the 787B
 
Actually, using the Mazda 787B is an overkill for this race. Bob can win this race using the Pagani Zonda LM car, or even the BMW F1 Mclaren GTR race car. Or the Ford GT LM car. The AI generally uses a 400-500 hp car.
