So I ordered my new parts from ebuyer and they showed up today.

I ordered:
Asus K8V SE Deluxe MoBo
1024MB Corsair DDR RAM
nVidia 6600GT
AMD Athlon 64 3400+ CPU

I got:
All of the above apart from the graphics card. They sent a 6800LE.

What I'm wondering about is if there is any point making a fuss. Is there a huge difference between the cards?

If your lucky, you can unlock the 6800 to a GT (though this can be hit and miss and voids warrenty I expect) XD

Keep the 6800 LE if I was you, I think its worth more too

Don't know if you've done it yet but the 6800LE is £152 and the 6600GT is £115 on ebuyer.

If they haven't overcharged you I'd keep stum :D

I can find the receipt with the RAM and CPU on but there seems to be a seperate one for the MoBo and Graphics Card that I can't find...

Did you pay on debit card or did you use one of your parents cards?
Either way you should find how much they charged sometime/somehow.

[offtopic] And where were you today? [/offtopic]

They should be about the same in performance. The 6600 has 128-bit RAM, but has higher speeds (500/1000). The 6800le has 256-bits, but goes at (300/700). Also, the 6600GT uses GDDR3, while the 6800le uses GDDR. I guess one plus is the 68 uses one more vertex processor (4 vs. 3).

Are you sure the 6800LE uses 256-bit? I'm fairly certain LE(Nvidia) and SE(ATi) generally are cards with slower memory interfaces (128-bit vs 256-bit). However, in the case of the 6600GT vs 6800LE, I'd keep the LE.

The entire 68xx series has 256-bit RAM. I confirmed(the 6800le) on newegg. Otherwise, the best choice would be to return it for the 6600GT.

Both the 6600GT and 6800LE have 8-pipelines. I've seen people unlock all 16-pipelines on the 6800LE, while only 12 on the 6600GT. You're mileage may vary, of course.

IMO, stick with the 6800LE.

Thanks guys. I guess I'll stick with it. 👍

Going to assemble everything today and see how it goes. :D
Isn't the LE model an "emasculated" version ? Usually, LE models stands for Light ( read cheap ) edition. I use the words Lame Edition.
If you can't unlock the 6800 ask for an exchange.
