Argh, it figures that as soon as I receive an X800XT AIW AGP for Christmas, nVidia announces this... Oh well. I plan to eventually build an entirely new computer down the line once my X800XT AIW no longer can run cutting edge videogames.

Methinks it's going to be hardcore on the monies.

I just got a 9550 to tie me over...a 7800 AGP wont be in my future though. I'm going to go x16 and 64 bit...Im going to have to keep up so I can get Vista :)

My CPU would be a bottleneck if I bought this card so it's not really viable. I think that everyone looking to buy a high end card such as a 7800 or x1800 already has PCI-E because it's clearly faster and better...I think it's a waste of time making AGP high end cards...Unless they have some suprise in store for AGP? :P

I agree. I doubt AGP have any serious life left in it, most of today's graphics cards are primarily PCI-E only. The only reason I didn't build an entirely new system instead of getting my X800XT AIW AGP for christmas this year was the fact that I bought an Athlon XP 3000+ earlier this year.

Also, I'm not switching to a 64-bit architecture when there really isn't any commercial (not beta) software support for it yet such as Operating Systems. My personal opinion, of course. When Vista is released, I'll most likely build a new computer though.

What is the point of AGP now? Lower bus speeds with an already slow GPU part. Spend the extra money for a PCI-E board and save yourself trouble in the future.

But 70% graphic card sales are AGP..............................
70% of people already have AGP, that's not sales.

There really isn't any point. I would spend the extra money and build a new computer but I really can't afford it since I'm a full-time college student.

Yay I am glad NVidia changed there mind, and finally made an AGP version. Most people owning PCI Express went oh a 7800 would bottleneck AGP, but I also found out.

Still half or a quarter of the people, in the graphics market are still with PCI. And well they only have just started to move to AGP, but I think i will not be getting anymore AGP cards.

Because well I be moving to PCI Express most likey next year, but i may change my mind and get a GS later this year folks.

I Dont Get Why You People ***** About PCI Vs. AGP.

Im Running A 5500FX On A 4x AGP Bus And Still Average 160 FPS On UT2004 With Everything On High At 1280x1024 And 8x AA And 8x AF.

Hell Even HL2 Gets 45-60 FPS With Everything On Medium-High On The Same AA/AF Settings (1024x768 Of Course). You People Complain Too Much.

You People SHould Be Gratefull That Nvidia Still Puts Out (Heh) AGP Cards.

(Yes I Am Too Poor To Upgrade My System)

They did not plan at first to bring an AGP version out, but they changed there minds just.
